For Paws K9 Training

I trained with my first therapy dog, Toby back in 2019. After losing my first therapy dog in 2024, I wanted to train another dog to do therapy work. In 2025 we welcomed Echo and started training with her. Jim and the four paws team have been amazing with us as this is the first time I’ve ever trained with a puppy! These trainers absolutely love dogs and become like second family for both owner and dog. Echo loves training with all of the trainers but loves her Aunt Lori the most. I will always recommend Jim and the team at Four Paws!

I met Jim about ten years ago when he first came into the dog training scene. Throughout my lifetime working in animal care and control I have been involved with lots of dog trainers. I loved Jim’s positive approach to dog training but also knowing how to give a mild correction when needed. I am a firm believer in training so loved his levels training where you continue on with the training to higher levels as the dog progresses, sometimes throughout its lifetime. When Jim opened For Paws I started training there with my adult dogs and loved it. So when I got my Russell Terrier pup, Tally Ho, it was a no brainer to take her there. I started her in puppy culture at four months and at six years old we continue on in level four. As proof to her excellent training throughout her lifetime not only is she the perfect friend and companion but she has gone on to achieve titles in Rally, obedience, barn hunt, lure coursing, dock diving, etc. She qualified and showed at the 2024 AKC Rally National Championships. She is also the best Therapy Dog that I have ever owned. I highly recommend Jim and his training facility if you are looking for a place to train your dog. Not only does he train owners to train their dogs but he also will train dogs himself and work with problem dogs, train therapy and service dogs and is the evaluator for Alliance of Therapy Dogs in this area. The proof is in the dogs that Jim turns out.

We have been going to 4 Paws with our Gracie for the past 2 years. We started when she was about 5 months of age in puppy culture and cannot say enough good things about how she has progressed. Not only has Gracie learned a lot, but I have received just as much training. Once Gracie was ready, we were able to complete her therapy dog training as well. All the instructors are very knowledgable and helpful. Highly recommend.
