FirstBarkOur experience with For Paws k9 Training has been comfortably challenging and rewarding for us and our Goldendoodle. Goals are set for each level, and the trainers are extremely helpful and patient in their sessions in and outside of class times. We have several levels to master, but the pace set for our dog (and us!) is reasonable, as he enjoys his quality time at For Paws!

At For Paws, we use a variety of positive reinforcement techniques and methods while watching or training your pet. We work with your dog’s natural instincts to encourage desired behaviors and promote a stronger bond with you and your family. We have found that positive reward-based training produces the best results. Your pet should never fear you or us when being watched or trained. Our trainers have learned to be creative and versatile using the best techniques and tools to create a positive learning environment to motivate both the dogs and their owner/handler.

Reggie loves coming to class. So far he is learning a little discipline in a very kind manner. Classes have helped both of us.
Friendly place to socialize my dog. Trainers are attentive to each of their students. It’s a pleasure being there and learning more about my puppy. Lessons are well structured and we get homework too!

I came to For Paws with a 9 month old Australian Shepherd. I had been successfully training him on basic obedience skills but was unprepared for the absolutely wonderfully craziness of the breed. It greatly saddened me to think I would not be able to handle him and that I had made a mistake getting this breed. I knew I needed help. Within a very short time at For Paws I gained the confidence I needed to begin really connecting with Hank. Head trainer Jim said that it seems difficult now, but if I stick with it Hank will come out the other side a good dog. Hank is not 100%-we still have plenty of work to do-but I am 100% sure I can do it and 100% glad I got this breed. Our next goal is to train for therapy work. Thanks to the foundation we built at For Paws, I truly believe Hank has the potential to become an outstanding therapy dog. When Hank graduates, we're really going to miss coming to For Paws. I would love to see them add classes such as agility, fly ball, nose work, or rally obedience to their list of offerings. Hank and I would sign up immediately! And Jim was not completely correct. He said Hank would be a good dog. Hank turned into a great dog! Thanks to all the trainers at For Paws for giving us the skills and confidence to become a great team!
I have brought two of my dogs to For Paws for training classes. With the consistent positive reinforcement techniques taught, one dog became a therapy dog and the next one is on her way to certification. I had to learn to how to communicate with my dogs, so they would know my expectations. I think training classes at For Paws makes for a great pet with confidence.
