Focus Dog Training - Obedience Dog Training

I started training with Rick after we had acquired a 3-4 year old German Shorthaired Pointer from the local shelter who turned out to be dog-aggressive. Although he was not my first dog, he really had me puzzled. He pulled badly on leash, paid zero attention to me outside of our home, and was always ready to explode at any dog he saw or heard. Taking him for walks was frankly embarrassing. Rick taught me how to better understand my dog's behavior and how to gain control via precise obedience. As we became a better team, our obedience practice wasn't only a necessity anymore, but actually turned into a fun activity for me and my dog. Rick also helped us neutralize the dog aggression. I now have a well-behaved dog who is focused on me instead of his environment, and who can safely exist in most public spaces. A huge difference from the messy spectacle we used to be!

Rick Walkley is hands down the best dog trainer I have ever had the privilege of watching work a dog or train a dog owner. As his son, I grew up in this family business observing, training, and helping. I have seen many people over the course of my life get frustrated with their dog, yell, hit, and be on the verge of giving up only to call my father for help. He stepped in, trained the owner (where most of the training usually happens), and was able to make a positive out of many bad situations. He is gifted teacher, a generous helper, and one of the most warm-hearted and kind businessmen I know (to a fault). Montgomery/Conroe, Texas has gained a great man and unbelievable dog trainer. I promise you that you are making a mistake if you take your business anywhere else.

Rick has always been more than willing to go above and beyond for the dogs. He has worked with our high maintenance dogs, as well as the lower maintenance ones. They are well behaved, enjoyable, loving animals that are easily manageable now. Taking them out into public is not only easy but also fun, for both my family and our pets. Rick has helped each of my family members learn how to work with the dogs also, so everyone can spend time with them.

I have had the honor of knowing Rick, not only starting out as a customer for obedience training with one pet, but also as a recipient of one of his executive protection grade dogs; I now look to Rick for advise and as a trusted source in the expanse of my own work in the executive protection field. I will own a dog of this caliber for the rest of my life - simply unsurpassed with regards to loyalty, capability, and overall worth. The root of this worth is derived from Rick's competency and knowledge of canine psychology and limitations, and his ability to identify and advise the human element that interacts with each canine customer he works with - and I'm proud to call him a personal friend. I am constantly introduced to "the latest and greatest" in canine handler's and their business (primarily US Military Special Forces oriented programs) - but I will continue to default to Rick as he is everything he professes to be - and he's an honest broker.
