FirstBarkRick is a good listener, patient and has a natural affinity with dogs- very important qualities in a trainer. He obviously loves his craft and has the experience and knowledge to produce impressive results. Rick is the best in his field and I highly recommend Focus Dog Training!

Rick Walkley is an absolute amazing dog trainer. I was gifted a troubled puppy who was from the pound (birthday gift from an ex girlfriend) but with Rick's help I was able to make the best out of a bad situation. He was able to instruct me on ways in which I could enhance the dog's diet ( I had no idea about grain free dog foods). Above everything I believe Rick's obedience training to be unparalleled, and I would highly recommend Mr. Walkley to any dog owner; whether you are just simply new to owning a dog or you need training for a specific purpose, Rick will take the time and effort to help you achieve your goals. He helped Carly ( my dog) and my wallet out immensely and I'm very thankful for him.
We have two small children and two VERY active dogs. To prevent any issues, we called Rick and Focus Dog Training. FDT got us in promptly and was extremely kind and helpful. With his tutelage we were able to balance the needs of our dogs and personalities with the proper training and lifestyle changes. Focus Dog Training has been instrumental in setting my fiancé and I up for success with our dogs. The training focuses on the real issue--which is often us--and enables us to train our dogs ourselves on our time. We've found that this model is unique to Focus Dog Training. Many dog trainers attempt to keep clients on the hook for follow up sessions and tend to do the work themselves. This was the opposite of our experience with Focus Dog Training. Rick evaluated our dogs, explained their deficiencies, and enabled us to do the work ourselves--which was ultimately super cost effective. We highly recommend Rick and Focus Dog Training to anyone who is serious about have a dog that is truly trained and obedient.
