Who knew how hard it is to find the right dog trainer?! When we got our pup, Boomer, we started our search for a trainer. What I found was 95% of them want to “board & train”. No thanks. My pup is not going to live away from me. How would I know if he was abused or shock collared? It's not like he could call & say “mom, come get me, they hurt me!”. So my search continued until I found Miss Cheryl. What a blessing she is! Boomer absolutely loves her. She is kind but firm when needed. There is no yelling or physical correction during training. She uses a correction spray which contains a mother dog's pheromones in it. The sound of the spray with the scent is enough to get his attention without hurting him. This is important for us because he is a Great Dane/Golden Retriever/Stafford Shire Terrier mix. He is going to be a bigger, very strong dog & I need to be able to control him. My kids need to be able to control him as well. Plus, he is going to be a mobility service dog. Our training sessions are hours long & we gain good ground with each lesson. We love her so much that we added 5 more sessions to include our older pup. I love to just watch her interact with them because you can tell she loves animals. If you need a trainer, don't think twice, just hire her! Her prices are way less than most but her time with them is priceless.

We would have to call Cheryl's training of our little 4 month old Boston Terrier, Winston, something approaching miraculous (and magical!) as she has just finished the fifth session with him and he has gone, under her amazingly skilled tutoring, from a berserk, wild little fellow to a pup who now shows a lot of hope in becoming a lot calmer and much more obedient. We told her that the only problem we have in giving her a review is that we are limited to 5 stars--if we had our way, she would get 10 stars. We cannot recommend her highly enough! Jim and Judi George We are adding to our original review as we are now nearing the completion of our second series of sessions with Cheryl and, once again, feel so fortunate that we found her for Winston as she has done an amazing job of helping him be such a better and much more well behaved little fellow than he was when she first came into our lives. Like so many of those who have posted reviews of Cheryl's work, our little guy just loves Cheryl and cannot contain his excitement when she arrives for the next session! It is really a joy to see such love expressed as he does when she comes in the door. We would, once again, give her much more than Five Stars if we could. We would also like to note our reaction to the recent review of the person with the Great Dane; as we do not personally know this person this, by definition, cannot be taken as a personal comment. However, after reading that very unfortunate comment, based on the Cheryl we know- now after two different sets of sessions - her comment left us with a sense of sadness that she never got to know the Cheryl we know as the person she describes is not even in the same universe as the person we have dealt with on a number of occasions. We guess one could say it is her loss, and that's really too bad.
