First Choice Canine

Without a doubt I would recommend this place to anyone looking to train their dog. We have a rescue that is a Yorkie terrier mix, would attack any man in sight, had horrible anxiety and would not move when we tried to train him to use an electric fence. After five weeks with First Choice and their team, he is a new dog (much more confident and happy). He walks off leash like a dream, doesn't go after men anymore and will actually take treats from a male that's a complete stranger...softly! I was sincerely skeptical at first and didn't think they would be able to do much. Wow...was I wrong!!! They work with tons of large breeds but did miracle work with my 12 pound guy too. We feel so fortunate to have worked with them that we are now considering getting a big dog and having them train him/her. Ashi was our dog's primary trainer (love her) but he was handled by KB and Chris as well. #dreamdogtrainers

We chose First Choice Canine after multiple attempts to help our rescue dog and her on-leash reactivity. Before First Choice, our girl would lunge and make a huge (and very vocal) scene every time we would see another dog on leash, in our car, at at the windows of our home. We got to the point where we couldn't bring her anywhere, and she basically became a backyard dog. We tried two different trainers without any luck and even medication which made us feel terrible. The things we were trying seemed to make her reactions even worse, and we were feeling really hopeless. We made one last ditch effort to help her before we gave up and only had her in the backyard, and after a ton of research, we settled on First Choice. And looking back we're SO happy that we did! After four weeks in their rehab program, our dog came back completed changed, and for the better! We had so many concerns going into it. We weren't sure if we were doing the right thing, we were scared her personality would change, and we were nervous we wasted a bunch of money. I can say now with certainty that we did do the right thing, and our dog came back with the same loving personality if not a whole lot happier than she was before. She seems to be so much more confident in herself and what we want out of her. Keeping up with all the training techniques we learned was overwhelming at first but it's becoming second nature now for us to handle her. The First Choice staff has supported us the entire time, answering our questions and encouraging us to attend the maintenance classes. We can't wait to continue to watch our girl's confidence grow and can proudly say that we can now go back to walking in our neighborhood again and pass by dogs without issue!! :)

I met a women at my vets . She had a Doberman and he was very obedient , so I inquired about his training . She referred me to FIRST CHOICE CANINE IN Brentwood NH where she had taken hers . I finally made it over there and set up for my Doberman to enroll in the 30 day boot camp program . KB ( trainer ) is unbelievable. I received weekly updates and that made me feel at ease about my dog being gone . I receive a few 2 hours of free training after was over for the following few weeks . KB stands behind his work . My dog is responding and doing very well with all the commands . I actually am able to walk off leash just after a few weeks and it’s just going to get better . Before ya know it he won’t be needing the e-collar anymore . These trainers know their stuff . KB explains everything you need to know , and is very patient answering any questions you may have . I will be following up with them going forward . Hmmm maybe protection training next . I saw them doing some protection training and I was in awe watching . The training was worth every penny and I’m not loaded by any means .

I am incredibly grateful for First Choice Canine and would wholeheartedly recommend them as a top-notch dog trainer, in particular, if you have a anxious, reactive, or aggressive dog. They worked wonders with my dog Juno (a shepherd-hound rescue mix). Before I went to First Choice Canine, Juno was a highly anxious, reactive dog to the point that even short walks were in the neighborhood were stressful. Now, all that stress is gone, she'll calmly walk with or by other dogs, so now we can happily go on long walks without it being an ordeal. And Juno's obedience is awesome. - I can let her off-leash and her recall is great; she'll even heel off-leash; etc - it's truly amazing. First Choice Canine, at least for me + Juno, worked wonders. We principally worked with Chris who was awesome - he provided clear guidance and was positive and encouraging throughout. On occasion, we also worked with KB and Asha and they were similarly wonderful. They really know what they are doing and have an approach and the tools to make a huge difference (e.g., they exposed Juno to a bunch of different dogs to teach her to cope with her fear/anxiety). For sure, you have to do your "homework" in-between session to ensure your dog has the consistency they need, but I seriously can't recommend First Choice Canine enough.

Our experience at First Choice Canine was exceptional. Before working with the trainers, our dog, Truman, was exhibiting behavioral challenges such as barking in the car, at strangers and other dogs (just to name a few). After a board and train at First Choice, he showed tremendous improvement. We are now able to take him anywhere without incident. One aspect we liked the most was how the training staff took the time to teach our family how to continue to be successful with Truman. Highly recommended!
