Hold Position & Rally Point — Hold a down or sit-stay from where the dog is, with increasing duration, distance, and distraction (treats thrown nearby, other dogs moving, environmental sounds), then return to the handler on a reliable recall — on and off leash. Situational Readiness — Break routines and triggers that cause overexcitement or anxiety. Heavy distraction work: doorbell sounds, fireworks, sirens, traffic sounds, departure cues (keys, shoes, coat). Decouple triggers from outcomes.
Advanced SkillsProgram details
Command & Control (Requires rank of Major or above) — Works on higher obedience, preparing some dogs for Colonel (CGC) and even General (UCGC) in the AKC certification programs. Combines all skills under realistic distractions (real-world obedience, reaction to other dogs and distractions, individualized coaching, etc).
Open BlockProgram details
Open Order Drill — Trainer-led, fast-rotating hour covering a variety of obedience tasks, switching to a new drill every 5–10 minutes. Dog owners can call out special requests and the real-world challenges they’re working through for live, in-the-moment coaching.

Intercept Drill — Impulse control and prey drive management using flirt poles, tug toys, and other high-energy tools. Builds focus, self-control, and a strong “off” switch.

Field Craft — Accepting a friendly stranger, sitting politely for petting, grooming tolerance, strangers carrying bags or objects, door manners, leave it, drop it. The manners and handling skills every dog needs.

Shore Leave — Fun trick training: rollover, spin, shake, bow, and more. A different trick each class. Mental stimulation and bonding.
Place WorkProgram details
Battle Stations — On a single cue, send the dog away to a designated spot (bed, cot, or mat) and have it settle there until released — holding position even as the handler moves around, steps out of sight, or leaves the room. Builds impulse control, calm independence, and out-of-sight duration.
Leash WorkProgram details
Ground Patrol — Walking on a loose lead with turns, stops, and direction changes. Walking through a crowd. Ignoring food and treats on the ground while maintaining focus.
Mid-Stay Vet RunProgram details
Trainer transports a B&T dog to the vet mid-stay (booster due, routine visit): drive + wait + handling (~2 hrs total). Vet's invoice paid by owner directly or passed through at cost. My dog, Sammy, and I have been going to training with Patrick at Fidelisk9 since he was 7 months old. We rescued him and he was a very sad case. Within a couple months of group classes and a week of board training he was a very happy, proud and obedient puppy!! I’m not sure who was more proud and excited-Patrick, Sammy or myself!! Both Sammy and I have learned so much and we both have gained the confidence we needed. Patrick is very dedicated and devoted to the dogs and it shows in his enthusiasm and excitement. He is always there for the many questions and concerns we have had along the way! I couldn’t be more grateful for all of assistance and care we have received!! I HIGHLY recommend this training to every dog owner out there!

Highly recommend Fidelis K9 training for any dog at any age. Their expertise and patience have made a significant difference in my puppy's behavior from the get go. The training sessions were engaging, tailored to my pup's needs, and resulted in noticeable improvements all the way to CGC certification at only five months old. Grateful for their continued positive impact on my furry friend's development.

We've been training with Fidelis K9 for 2.5 years - which was pretty close to their inception (I think?). It's been such an awesome ride, and we are so happy with the help we've received. Patrick does a great job adjusting the trainings to help his clients reach their goals. We've really enjoyed the past few months of group trainings when we're able to make it out - having them in public locations is such a game changer for dog training. Instead of setting the dog up to perform what you want them to do in a distraction free environment, Patrick provides the environment with distractions to make sure they're actually learning the skill at hand. He's always willing to help anyone work on their specific problems with their dog, and if there is none he sets up an exercise for your dog to work at being their best. We've been able to successfully manage a high energy Labrador while also welcoming a newborn, and then being crazy enough to add another Labrador because of all Patrick's help. Looking forward to our next year of training with Fidelis K9.

Patrick is probably one of the best dog trainers we’ve ever encountered. We adopted a nine month old flat coated retriever mix, who is extremely strong and energetic. Within one training session because of Patrick’s instruction, we learn so many tools to keep our pup in control and responding to many more commands. We would highly recommend Patrick for any dog.

Highly recommend K9 Fidelis & Patrick!! Our 4 year old rescue Belgian Malinois has improved so much since working with Patrick. We have the unlimited group class package & it has been so beneficial in helping us train Echo. Best trainer in Norcal by far.
