Exclusive Dog Training

We decided to get a rescue and Sable seemed to be the perfect dog for our family. Sable is a very sweet natured dog but as with most rescues she was fearful and didn’t really respond to all the that we tried. After trying several online classes and even a board and train program we called exclusive dog training. It was a game changer for us. Carlos helped us desensitize her and do confidence building and help her enjoy life more. It’s incredible how much he knows about dog behavior. After 4 classes ,Sable now goes for walks, is ok with parks and finally bonding with the family. We are still in the process but we are happy to see where it’s going.

My experiences with Carlos have exceeded all expectations for working with a trainer. Starting with the first session, he dove into his training philosophy - understanding how dogs think and react, and how his (our) methods can be used to shape the behavior we want. Over 75% of the training is educating me as an owner on the how and why what we do in training works or doesn't work. He very focused on the small but important details, from timing, to body positioning, to leash handling skills, and working with his clients and their pups to make the learning process as straightforward as possible. I particularly like his emphasis on incremental steps toward the end goal - teaching your pup in various low pressure situations how to react - recall, heeling, etc. He doesn't rush the dog towards the end goal, but builds a strong foundation for the dog to understand the commands and desired response. We started with a 5 month old Vizsla puppy, with regular sessions every one to two weeks, and at-home practice in between. My pup has gone from zero recall to reliable recall and check-in when we're out in the fields. We have a one-year old Goldendoodle who is just as playful as our two boys. Our goal when finding a trainer was to be able to command her stay, sit come and to walk with us (not ahead/pulling when distracted). We knew we made the best decision after our first meeting with Carlos. He was patient with the questions I asked and every scenario I gave he had the knowledge and experience to explain to me how we can correct that behavior. He is super down to earth so you feel comfortable asking the different questions. Carlos said she is smart she is picking up quickly, I agree but also think the correct training is what is getting her to where we want her to be so quickly. Thank you Carlos! Carlos is an awesome trainer. He is very knowledgeable and patient. We have an 8 month old Rottweiler who is very much in his juvenile stage. Just wants to play all the time and thinks he is the boss. With just a few sessions of training he is doing so much better at listening and following commands. I am no longer being drug down the street by a 100lb dog... Now he walks right beside me. Thank you so much Carlos!!

We started working with Carlos to develop and improve our German Shepherd Roxy's obedience. Although we moved away before our training was complete, we managed to get our dog to reliably sit, and heel on leash, and were able to work up to off leash recall. Most importantly Carlos is very professional and gave us all the tools we needed to fully train our dog. Would highly recommend him to anyone in need of dog training!
