Eric Temple Dog Training

Eric's patience, professionalism, and perspective made a huge difference in the way we connect with our dog. It's less about training the dog (or training the owner) than it is about understanding – from the dog's perspective – what motivates them. Eric never claimed that our dog would be perfect, and as a result we stopped trying to achieve that. Winslow's recall has improved significantly, but more importantly, we understand what's going through his mind when we call him and can better respond to his urges. Eric believes that dogs should be dogs, and that enabled us to stop pushing for perfection. I can't recommend Eric Temple enough when it comes to building a cooperative, trusting relationship with your pet.

I was a bit skeptical at first, thinking my dog Arlo, might be too set in his ways to pick up new skills. But Eric completely changed my mind! After working with him, I’ve seen such a huge improvement in Arlo’s recall, walking, and overall listening skills. I now feel way more confident managing him off-leash and during our neighborhood strolls. The training has really brought us closer and made our walks so much more enjoyable. Eric is fantastic—I can’t recommend him enough!

I have recently worked with Eric to help me and my family prepare for a new puppy after a very extensive search for the right trainer. Eric is honest, thoughtful, dependable and dedicated to his profession. He is amazing at making himself available to answer questions, never rushed us off the phone and listened completely before commenting. His focus was always on how best to educate us and what the puppy needed to be successful. You do not get the feeling that this is just a business for Eric, and it definitely is for some trainers. I would highly recommend Eric!

Eric has been hugely helpful to us and our beagle. We have been having great success teaching him better boundaries with Eric’s help and guidance. I have tried many other trainers, and Eric is by far the most knowledgeable and helpful. He has realistic suggestions and applicable tools and strategies we are able to implement after a session. I like how Eric takes a balanced approach with both positive reinforcement, and by also offering suggestions around how to effectively communicate to a dog who needs redirection. We are super grateful to Eric for helping guide us through e collar training! Highly recommend!!
