Eric Temple Dog Training

I couldn't recommend Eric for training more! I had a rescue German Shepherd mix who was leash reactive towards other dogs and pulled on the leash a ton. I was also hoping to have him off leash as well. And Beau is truly the most well behaved dog now. I got everything I was hoping for and more with Eric. I truly wish I would've found him sooner. Him and Beau got along from the second they met. We did the homeschool training, and this worked perfectly for my demanding schedule. I loved that I still got time every with with Eric to review everything. He even recorded videos of the trainings so that I could see what how he was teaching Beau and replicate it. Eric was great at both suggesting options he thought would work best for Beau while respecting what the owner is comfortable with. He made sure that I knew exactly what to do and was set up for success after the training was over. Eric is both an incredible trainer, but also so clearly great with both dogs and people. I'm definitely going back to Eric for any new pups I get!

We can’t rave about Eric enough! He’s absolutely wonderful with our dog, Poppa — he really understands his spunky personality and somehow manages to channel all that energy into learning. Eric just “gets it.” Eric immediately figured out that Poppa learns best through play, and Poppa loves his training sessions. He’s been particularly helpful on teaching new commands and leash commands (along with broader impulse control!). You can tell Eric truly loves Poppa as if he were his own dog. It’s also just a joy having Eric around — he’s kind, easy to talk to, and makes the whole process fun. The fact that he comes to our place makes it incredibly convenient. We feel so lucky to have found him!

I went to Eric because my pup Crosby was reactive to dogs, to the extent that I wasn't comfortable ever letting him off leash. Eric's approach was to understand my goals for Crosby, help me understand whether those goals were realistic, and teach various ways I could work towards those goals with Crosby. He offered a realistic, balanced approach, and never pressured me to use any training methods that I wasn't comfortable with (I've worked with previous trainers that pushed really hard for prong collars and weren't willing to meet me where I was at). I had a few sessions with him to learn how to use an e-collar, and it's been the best thing that ever happened to Crosby! After working with Eric I feel confident that I can let Crosby off leash, he can now chase squirrels to his heart's content, and I'm not worried about what will happen if we see another dog.

Eric helped our 2yo Corgi adjust to having a new baby sister in the house. When our daughter first came home, our dog started guarding the baby and showing aggression towards everyone else in the house. Eric gave us tools to help curb this behavior and also improved our dog's ability to walk on leash! These lessons helped us set boundaries with our dog and her behavior in other areas have improved without much additional effort. All of this was achieved with only 3 of the 4 lessons in the package so we're saving the last session in case any other issues come up in the future. Eric's methods are firm but gentle and were easy for us to adopt without feeling like we were harming our relationship with our dog in any way.
