Eric Letendre's Dog Training School

We started bringing our two big dogs, Finn (6) and Remi (1) to Eric’s dog training about a month ago, and I was worried about Finn’s abilities given he is almost 7 and is stuck in his ways. He had become very reactive over the years and would often lunge and growl at other dogs which made us not want to walk him and avoid other dogs at all costs. After our first lesson with Eric, I already felt I had better control of Finn after learning the techniques to control his reactivity. Over just the past few weeks, he has become a completely different dog. He is friendly with all dogs in the group training sessions and doesn’t react when he hears other dogs barking or growling, whereas a month ago he would have not been able to handle the environment. I am so fortunate for Eric and his highly trained staff who have taught us the tools needed to become better dog owners and give our dogs the lives they deserve to be the best they can be!

For reference this isn’t my first dog, he has been socialized, and knows basic commands. During our first training, I was given all new commands told to buy the treats Eric uses, and also buy a small bike tire inflator up the street to “correct” my dog, no actual training was done apart from him blasting my dog with said compressed air. I was hesitant but showed up for the first group class which Eric said would be a small classes of 5…there were 9 dogs and some were reactive/aggressive and had not been socialized. During this class, a different man (not Eric) talked for 30-40 min and then had my dog walk two circles around the room, no training was done apart from being told to purchase either a leash that wraps around your dogs nose, or a prong collar. After 3 interactions and zero actual training happening, I asked to speak with Eric to let him know this wasn’t a good fit for me or the right environment for my dog and asked if he wanted me to go ahead and cancel the other 3 classes I signed up for online. He was instantly offended and angry and instead of letting me part ways on a positive note, he demanded to know what I “didn’t like” then proceeded to make excuses about people unknowingly showing up for classes and that he can train my dog to do whatever I want in a private lesson. Eric informed me he didn’t provide refunds which I expected but said if I came back for a private lesson he’d refund me. This did not happen, he became defensive again and claimed he never said that and then continued badgering me about leaving a bad review. I’m choosing to leave an honest review and hopefully prevent others from bringing their dogs into this negative environment. Eric seems to be an angry person and not very enjoyable to be around, I would not recommend his training program.

Eric and the staff are very professional in what they do, and at the same time, they make you feel that you and your dog are very special and that everything will be okay. They first evaluate your dog and then they give you options for what they understand you need depending on what you want to achieve with your dog. It is very easy to get there. The place is very clean and they have well-defined rules so that you and your dog are always safe. The offices and training area are located on the second floor. Parking is available on site. The classes are very enjoyable and interactive. They are always ready to answer any questions. The classes have different schedules and you can schedule the day and time that best suits you.
