Elizabeth Ingalls Dog Behavior and Training

I'd give Elizabeth 100 stars if it were allowed! When my bordoodle was 6 months old she started to develop reactive behavior. Being highly fiscally responsible, I looked for what I thought were cost effective solutions. We tried various relatively inexpensive training programs and got a little something out of each. Our walks were STILL an absolute nightmare with a highly leash reactive dog who was now getting bigger, stronger, and more determined. As a last ditch effort I decided to try Elizabeth. She costs more, but oh boy is she WORTH IT! My husband can't get over how Elizabeth' s suggestions have decreased the anxiety we were feeling on every single walk. Elizabeth communicated ideas effectively on line, so we were able to see changes in Juno's behavior right from the get go. We are fortunate enough to live close enough to get in person sessions as well. And I can not even describe the lovely way Elizabeth has with dogs. Juno adores her. It is clear that Elizabeth treats each dog as an individual client and doesn't just push a cookie cutter package to all her clients. I would recommend Elizabeth in a heartbeat to anyone struggling with any type of doggie challenge. She is an absolute dog behavior expert and is extremely well read.

Two years ago my wife and I adopted a dog named Jefferson who was listed as a retriever mix. We got a pretty big surprise when the sweet, calm dog from the shelter turned out to be mostly Great Pyrenees, 0% retriever, completely untrained, and reactive towards other dogs. All the things we had hoped to do with our new dog - breweries, hikes, patios, etc - went out the window. For a year and a half we worked with various local trainers, none of whom had ever worked with a Great Pyrenees. We made some progress on his basic training, but no trainer was able to help with his reactivity. It’s almost impossible to go for a walk around the neighborhood without seeing other dogs, so Jefferson’s world was small and after countless failed attempts, we pretty much gave up on ever expanding it. I reached out to Elizabeth after a particularly difficult walk with Jefferson. From the very beginning of our meetings with her, it was clear that she understood the breed, which was not the case when working with other trainers. She gave us some tips for navigating his reactivity and we have finally been able to make some progress on that front. It’s still a work in progress, but for the first time since adopting him, we have hope that some day we’ll be able to do some of the things we had initially hoped to do when adopting a dog. We worked with Elizabeth on other things besides his reactivity, like barking, digging, and jumping, and made progress in those areas too. Anyway, I highly recommend Elizabeth for dog training, especially if you have a Pyr or a reactive dog. There are lots of other positives to mention - she accommodated our schedule when we were scheduling our virtual training sessions, she was responsive to the many questions/pictures/videos we sent, and was very relatable in a way that the other trainers we’ve worked with were not.
