Our dog training system sets up a communication system with your dog through markers. The learning phase is all through positive reinforcement. As the dog becomes fluent in the communication skills, the dog trainer introduces other quadrants of learning for the dog to be able to work through distraction and learn to control his/her impulses. The product is a happy, eager, attentive and obedient dog!

I took my Staffie (Doug) to Downtown Dogs for their Board and Train program. Ari, Aliya, and their team are very knowledgeable and worked with Doug on improving his listening and recall skills. I love that they have group classes to help reinforce what he learned and to teach me how to effectively communicate with him. They offer boarding programs too so I know that I always have a safe, reliable place for Doug to stay when I’m out of town. And, added perk, this is the only place where Doug will allow his nails to be trimmed!

I called the store but a machine answered and the person who answered sounded despotic and aggressive, it seemed like he was talking to animals but he didn't realize that he was answering calls. If that's how it is with people, I can't imagine what it must be like with them. dog parents

Our bulldog was reactive to other dogs and had fear aggression.
We did private behavioral classes with A trainer at another facility and group ones which did not correct any of the issues.
He was kicked out of day care and we were sad and desperate.
A friend recommended Downtown Dogs and our lives turned for the better.
Henry went through the training and the dog we got back was A completely different animal.
2 years later we still go to group classes once in A while and have kept up with everything we were taught.

This review is LONG overdue!! We brought our chow/pit mix here due to her herding / feet nipping habits/ playtime nipping and the trainers here completely transformed my dog. She was a tough cookie to crack and not food motivated AT ALL but the trainers here were so patient. Our dog is now super well behaved, understands boundaries, and is very obedient! 10000% worth the investment!

They took amazing care of my beloved (foster) dog Rex. He can be a handful and they were not only capable and trustworthy, but flexible and kind with everything we needed. They went above and beyond to make sure he was taken care of and helped to keep Rex on his training course so he can get adopted! Can’t recommend them enough. Pic of Rex for cuteness cred.
