I reached out to Pam due to my dogs reactivity to people and other dogs on walks as well as stranger fear and anxiety. What I liked about Pam as a trainer is that she never passed any judgement and really put my worries at ease to ensure me that these are common behavioral issues and provided me with the tools I needed to allow my dog to be successful in his environment. It is clear from working with Pam that she is extremely passionate about dogs and she always listened to my dogs specific needs and would always go the extra mile to bring special treats for Nemo during training sessions. My dogs behavioral issues are very complex and I felt like I was running out of options and would never make progress until Pam was able to guide me in the right direction. I liked that she utilizes positive reinforcement to de-sensitize and reduce fear responses rather than punishment because she was able to gain trust and build a relationship with my dog very quickly coming from a dog who often does not trust any new person entering the home. She was patient and took her time to build trust with my dog and always responded to his cues never oversteppping boundaries or moving on to quickly. She addressed all my questions and concerns and taught me how to respond when I encountered any of my dogs common triggers. Nemo has come such a long way and can handle situations that used to evoke intense fear responses with so much more ease. Consistency is key and I can't wait to see how far Nemo will go!
