Dopamine K9 Training & Behavior

We have had 4 training sessions with Jeremy for our dog and I can’t say enough about how helpful it’s been. She went from being extremely leash reactive and pulling nonstop on leash to heeling by my side and not reacting to other dogs when we see them. Jeremy explains the training in a way that’s useful and easy to understand and is always open and available for questions during and in between training sessions.

Our experience working with Dopamine K9 has been nothing short of life changing. Our 155-pound Great Dane, Quinn, responded with fear-based reactivity to nearly every unknown dog or human we encountered. He would lunge, snarl, bark, and sometimes he would panic so badly when someone would approach us that he flailed about and frothed at the mouth. Over time, he learned that this behavior would result in his immediate separation from the "threat," so he kept it up. And his size and power made it pretty much impossible to take him anywhere outside of our house and backyard. Even a walk around the block felt extremely stressful and perilous. At home with us, he was a fantastic dog, but out in the "scary" world, we lost the ability to communicate with him. But we found ourselves kind of trapped along with him, never able to leave him with someone else to go on vacation, or even be able to just enjoy the amazing Oregon outdoors with him. His intense fear and anxiety was affecting all of our lives. I was worried he might be beyond help, but we weren't ready to give up just yet. We called Jeremy and Danielle at Dopamine K-9 because of the many testimonials of their ability to work with aggressive dogs. Jeremy came by our house for the first visit, and we were amazed at how comfortable and relaxed he was working with Quinn right away. Jeremy felt confident they could make great progress with Quinn with a three week board-and-train. Throughout the three weeks, Jeremy and Danielle sent wonderful and astonishing video/picture updates (Quinn at heel while other dogs and people walked by! Quinn at the park! Quinn at the coffee shop! Quinn at the arcade! Quinn at Oakshire!) We couldn't believe the incredible progress they were making with him in such a short time. When we picked Quinn up, Jeremy spent three hours with us, teaching us and practicing the communication system they had installed to ensure his progress continued at home. And the amazing thing is that it really has. We have been able to take Quinn on walks and around town every day. He is beyond excited when we pull out the leash. He will always be a nervous dog - that's just who he is - but now we have the tools to manage it. I cannot thank Dopamine K9 enough for their amazing work. They are so knowledgeable and clearly love their work. Their passion for dog training has truly transformed our lives. 10 STARS!

i cannot thank them enough. our lives and our pets’ lives have drastically changed for the better. we got our two dogs back today after spending a few weeks in their board and train program. our Boppy girl was crippled with extreme anxiety. they have totally transformed her into a much, much happier and calmer gal through clear and positive communication. we even had a contractor visit shortly after the dogs came back home. he has been to the house before and remembered boppy’s reactivity and unhinged barking and whining. he asked if we still had our black dog!! he couldn’t believe she was in the house. that instantly validated her progress. she’s also now interacting with her sister yoki in much healthier ways and even disengaging with our 4 cats (which i thought was an impossible feat!). after years of obsessive fixation on the cats and out of control reactions to visitors, i feel like i can finally feel at peace and breathe inside our home again. will never be able to explain how much this means to our family.

I welcomed my furry friend into my life two years ago, and from day one, he proved to be a handful. But our bond has been unbreakable from the start; he's my once-in-a-lifetime dog. As I began working with him, the hope blossomed that he could become my service dog due to his incredible connection with me. Despite excelling in the task work I had trained, other aspects were, quite frankly, a mess. Believing in our teamwork, I passionately sought funding for his training at Dopamine K9. Having worked with Jeremy and Danielle before, I knew I could put my faith in them completely. Fortunately, I received coverage for an intensive board and train program, and after three months in their care, I'm thrilled to say my dog is now the best version of himself. He's not a whole new dog, but rather my goofball companion, with every bit of his personality enhanced in how he carries himself. The confidence he now exudes while navigating the world and the trust he places in me to lead him showcase the success of our teamwork. Thanks to Dopamine K9's guidance and training, my life has changed in the best possible way. Both me and my dog will have a more enriched and fufilling life due to the work done by their team.
