Dogability Dog Training

We took our German Shepherd puppy to Juan for training and he is did a great job with her. We did the 1 month boot camp then decided to do the off leash training as well. Our dog listens much more and we feel better with her around the kids since she was so hyper and large. It is a great feeling to have a dog that listens to your every command instead of just staring at you. Thanks Juan and the whole staff who were awesome too.

Juan and Dogability were excellent. He came recommended to us by a friend who completed the one month training course with her dog. We were very nervous about sending our dog away for an entire month and had lots of questions! But we knew we had to send our 9 month goldendoodle to training, she was a PetSmart basic obedience class drop-out and puppy crazy!! Juan came to our home for an initial consultation and was very patient. He answered all our questions and we were very impressed with him by the end of the consultation. After dropping her off at his home, I think he knew we were worried about her, so he sent us three videos of her playing with the other dogs during the first few days, that made us feel a lot better. He sent us weekly reports of how she was doing, either through text messaging or videos showing our dog’s progress. Whenever we texted him asking about her progress he always responded really quickly! The last week of the program he spent his time training us. We went to his new facility, The Pet Wagon Hotel, which by the way is beautiful! He showed us all the commands and worked with him and our dog on everything she learned while away. Our dog came back a completely different dog! Before, she was nuts! We couldn’t believe it was her! (Jumping on people, constantly pulling during her walks, eating pine cones/sticks which would cause her to vomit, not following basic obedience when other people were around). It’s been one week since we had her home. She walks great now! We actually enjoy taking her out for walks! This past weekend we had two strangers come in the home (at separate times) because we are getting work done in our house. Usually when she hears the door bell she would run to the door and jump and nip on the person consistently and it would be difficult to control her. This past weekend when those two people came, I put on her leash, told her to go to her “Place”, told her to stay and she stayed there the whole entire time!!! Unbelievable! We walked her in the park also, she still tried to jump on one person but all in all she is a much more well behaved dog. A few people who walked by with their pulling dog even complemented on how well-behaved she was. We are so happy we went with Dogability! If you are having any issues with your dog, you have to go to Juan!

Juan changed our lives! My mini dachshund might be adorable and sweet, but he had no manners! I had all but given up on potty training. And basic obedience... that was never gonna happen. I think Bam Bam knew sit and would do it every now and then when told. Bam Bam ran the house, he was in charge. Juan taught me that just because dachshunds have a reputation for being stubborn and untrainable does not mean that its true. We now have a completely different dog in our home. He is obedient, eager to please, POTTY TRAINED and an all around pleasure. Bam knows what he is and isn't allowed to do. He knows where he should be and to wait for permission to move. He is still happy, fun-loving and sweet, but now he is a gentleman as well. I knew instantly when I met Juan that he was the one for us. His energy and compassion and overall love of animals is apparent. He has the perfect balance of love and discipline. It was clear Bam Bam adored him, but also respected him. After or training sessions and Bam Bam was back home with us I had some traveling for work come up abruptly and Juan and Maria stepped right in and cared for Bam. Maria was so excited to see him when we arrived that I was at ease being away from my baby. She even sent us pictures of him outside playing. Juan and Maria are two very special people. They have chosen a great group of individuals to join them in training and care giving as their business grows. It can be hard to trust someone else with your fur baby, but Juan and Maria love them like their own. I can't say enough good things. I would recommended Dogability and The Pet Wagon to ANYONE!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Juan and Maria. They are like family to us now and play such a big part of our spoiled dog’s life. We found The Pet Wagon in July 2010 right after we adopted Zeke, our energetic lab mix, and since then we have used them consistently for walks, boarding and training. This was our first dog and we are so thankful to have had them to help us along the way. From day one they have been unbelievably flexible, available, responsible and so good with Zeke. Maria and Juan are both so nice and easy to get along with. Juan took the time to meet with us and our dog in our home to review basics of training, his philosophy and to get to know us and our situation. Then we started on basic obedience over several weeks. We mastered basic commands, recall, walking on loose leash, and control with E-collar among other things. Juan was always available to answer a phone call to get advice on a situation and was willing to meet in different environments to diversify the training ie parks, PetSmart, home. This was pre-dog training facility but it is a point to demonstrate his enthusiasm and how he always made himself available despite his busy schedule. Juan’s training goes beyond basic commands and teaches fundamentals that you can incorporate into your daily life and he has good advice on dog owner etiquette and safety. In fact, our dog is aggressive with other dogs and he has helped me to feel more confident about how to deal with an undesirable situation. I find it great he is so open to different types of training and aids but also ensures there is no physical or psychological harm done to your pet. We were able to experience different types to find what worked for Zeke. I now feel like we have good control of our crazy, lovable dog and am proud of his obedience and behavior. Juan clearly has a natural gift with animals and he is very dedicated to and compassionate about training. Gracias Tio Juan!
