Dog Training With Monica

Monica is a wonderful trainer, and I highly recommend her! We have taken two training classes (one 6-week private session, one 6-week group class) from Monica with our German Shepherd puppy (now ~7 months old). We have been very happy with Monica's approach to training and the experiences we've had with her. Monica adjusts her training style to the individual dog and owner(s) and makes the experience enjoyable and fun for both. We adopted our puppy at about 3 months old, and he was extremely timid. So in addition to teaching us basic obedience commands and how to manage typical puppy behavior, Monica gave us lots of exercises and games to help build our puppy's confidence. We have been able to do all of our training in a simple harness; I know Monica will recommend other training equipment on a case by case basis, but so far, we haven't had a need for any other gear. Our puppy is doing so much better now in terms of confidence and appropriate behavior, and we're happy that he has a solid foundation in basic obedience that we will continue to proof and generalize throughout his life. Boarding with Monica has also been a great experience. The dogs stay in Monica's home with her, and she enforces basic manners - it's nice to know that our puppy won't come home with a bunch of new bad habits! Monica ensures all the interactions among the dogs are appropriate, so we know our timid puppy won't have any traumatic experiences that will set him back with his confidence. Monica also texts occasional updates and photos which is great for our peace of mind!
