Dog Training Durango/Diane's Clever K9s, LLC

Diane trained, Arrow, our one year old lab mix. We cannot believe this is the same dog! We were quite frustrated with some behavior issues, like bolting after everything and not coming back, not listening when other dogs visited, and she displayed tendencies towards chasing vehicles. We found ourselves always on edge; opening a door, fearing that she would get out and it would be the frenzy panic of finding her. Diane trained her on the ecollar and then trained us. The transformation is remarkable! She is coming when we call her name and at the most we send a "tone" and she responds immediately. What a pleasure to have her outside with us without fear of losing her. Now that we are more confident and less stressed, Arrow picks up on our calmness and is so much more attentive. We would give Diane 50 stars if we could!

Diane helped us train our very anxious medium goldendoodle! He started as a reactive, hard to control dog (he had attended two other basic obedience classes), to a well trained graduate of canine good citizen class!! Diane watched our dog and how we worked with him and made good observations and corrections. Honestly, the humans need as much training as the canines! It took three private lessons, with Diane seeing our Finn in action in the neighborhood and we saw such a transformation. We appreciated her so much that we had to bring our new cockapoo puppy for training with her right away. Our little Laila passed puppy class and basic obedience. We plan to continue with canine good citizen as soon as possible. Diane is observant, knowledgeable, and consistent. She expects the best from our dogs and expects the humans to do the same! Do the work with your dog and let’s have canine good citizens everywhere!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank Diane for the outstanding training she provided for me and my german shepherd puppy. I have taken the beginning classes multiple times in order to really solidify her training principles in the presence of new groups of dogs. One of the things I like best is that Diane creates a controlled and safe environment for learning but at the same time incrementally increases the distraction level week after week which teaches the dogs to focus and listen in many situations. Because of the the investment I made in my puppy’s first year, I now have a 17 month old amazing companion that stays focused on me regardless of what is going on around her. One hundred percent of the time we spend together is now mutually fun and rewarding. She listens to everything I ask and checks in with me for direction if she is unsure of what is expected of her. It has been a rewarding journey and an absolute pleasure to learn to train my dog with Diane’s assistance. If any unexpected situations come up that we have not yet practiced, we just work through them calmly with the basic tools we learned in class, so there is never any need to compensate for adverse behaviors that got reinforced accidentally. I highly recommend Diane to any owner who is wanting to have a great relationship with a well trained and well mannered dog. She is not only a gifted trainer but very supportive with any related issues or needs that come up beyond that which she offers in her classes. I know for sure that because of Diane’s help my puppy and I have set the groundwork for many wonderful years ahead. Lori and Anika
