Dog Savvy Dog Training

We have a 4-year-old Great Pyrenees, Baylor, whose anxiety often shows up as reactivity. At 4, I honestly thought we had missed the window for training, but Andrew never wavered in his commitment to him. From the very first session, Andrew and Brittany listened to our concerns and created a plan that truly worked. In just a few sessions, we saw real improvement. We’ve built such a strong foundation that things we once thought were quirks are now completely manageable—Baylor can relax on the couch without barking at a passersby, and on walks he stays calm regardless of people and dogs passing by. With traditional training, the biggest thing we got was that he could “sit,” but with Dog Savvy, the best outcome has been what we DON'T see anymore: his explosive reactivity. Baylor is a complete 180 of the dog we had at the beginning and is so much more relaxed and happier. Seeing him be able to navigate life without hitting the panic button instantly has been the most amazing thing to witness. The tools and guidance provided is easy to implement and flexible to YOUR lifestyle as opposed to implementing a practice that isn't sustainable. I love that we're able to do simple but SUPER effective drills with as little as 10-15min in our own home. I only wish we had started with Dog Savvy sooner. They genuinely care about your dog—I can’t recommend them enough!

Andrew is by far the most knowledgeable and uplifting dog trainer Ive encountered! He not only takes the time to assess your personal needs but also, with his community page and online sessions, introduces you to others who are going through the steps as well! He is encouraging and thorough and the way he teaches really helps establish your role in your doggies life! My husband and I have taken what we have learned and used those skills repeatedly even after our training had concluded. So all in all we couldn't recommend Dog Savvy and their tools, more!

I can't recommend Dog Savvy enough! Their holistic approach truly sets them apart—rather than just focusing on surface-level obedience, they help you get to the root of the behavior. I have two sweet, cuddly pups who could also be pushy and overwhelming in social situations. I used to feel totally embarrassed, like people were silently judging me for not having them “trained.” But just one month in, and the difference is night and day. The training is simple to learn, doesn’t take much time, and works in real-life situations. My dogs’ manners have improved so much, and I’ve even had multiple people compliment how well they’re behaving. Dog Savvy helped me go from overwhelmed to empowered—and I’m so grateful!

I searched for a dog trainer to help me with our new rescue , Brie. She was adopted from the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter in February 2024. I wanted her to be a therapy dog but needed help calming her down and following some basic behavioral guidelines. Choosing Dog Savvy with Andrew Gleason we found so much more. Individual classes concentrating on exactly what you need was what we found. The progress has been amazing! We finished our Canine Good Citizen test with flying voles and we are ready to start. I couldn’t be happier. Not to mention how much fun Brie and I had!
