Dog Savvy Dog Training

If I could give ten stars I would still feel like I under rated Dog Savvy! We have worked with Andrew and Brittany for a few months now and both dogs (and their humans) are much more confident and skilled. The dogs are happier and are well on the way to being stellar citizens as a result of our training with Dog Savvy. Communication with Andrew and Brittany is excellent and I marvel at Andrew's ability to teach - humans and dogs! I wish I had worked with this company sooner.

I truly can’t say enough great things about Dog Savvy Training. We rescued a Rhodesian Ridgeback who had been neglected for two years and came to us with significant anxiety and abandonment issues. Andrew completely changed the way we understand and communicate with our dog. He didn’t just train our dog - he trained us on how to help him feel secure while fitting into our incredibly busy lifestyle. We have 3 kids (1, 4 and 17) and 2 cats. The transformation has been amazing. Our dog used to pull so hard on walks it felt like he could rip your arm off. Now he calmly walks right beside us without pulling, even when he’s triggered by other dogs or small animals. Our 4 year old daughter is even able to walk him without any issues! Beyond that, his overall behavior has improved dramatically. He’s no longer pushy around food, he respects our front door space, and he greets guests with calm excitement instead of jumping or overreacting like he used to. We are able to take him on car rides and with us to public spaces! Andrew has an incredible ability to help you understand how your dog thinks and what they truly need. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or just want a better relationship with your dog, I cannot recommend him enough. 10/10 - worth every penny and minute! My sister even made a joke that he seemed like a totally different dog compared to the moment we first brought him home.

My husband and I adopted a young, energetic Black Lab named Dottie from our son’s family in December 2024. With two very active young boys, they simply didn’t have the time she needed, and since we had already been caring for her off and on, we were happy to welcome her into our home permanently. Just two days later, I had an accident at a dog park and broke my tibia, requiring surgery and leaving me non-weight-bearing for three months. During my recovery, I was especially concerned about managing such an energetic dog safely once I began using crutches and eventually walking again. That’s when we reached out to Andrew and Brittany at Dog Savvy. Andrew came to our home, assessed Dottie, and took the time to walk us through his training philosophy and program. His approach was unlike any training we had experienced before, and exactly what we needed. He was patient, encouraging, and never made us feel overwhelmed. He worked with us at a pace that fit our lives, which made all the difference. What truly sets this training apart is its focus on real-life behaviors, the very ones that can be challenging for many dog owners and, unfortunately, sometimes lead to dogs being returned to shelters. We worked on things like jumping, rushing the front door, food boundaries, not begging at the table, reliable recall, and even helping Dottie learn how to calm herself in stressful situations. Thanks to Dog Savvy’s training, Dottie has grown into a confident, well-mannered dog. We regularly receive compliments on how well-behaved she is, which is a testament to the tools and guidance we were given. I’m incredibly grateful to Andrew and Brittany for their support, kindness, and expertise throughout this journey. We’re even considering adopting another Lab as a companion for Dottie, and we feel confident we now have the tools to set our next dog up for success as well. Highly recommend! 5 stars!

Andrew is incredibly patient and has made such a huge difference with our dog, Gemma. We rescued her from a shelter at 5 months old, and she had zero training prior, so we truly didn’t know what to expect. His training style is flexible and genuinely fits any schedule, whether you’re busy or have more time to dedicate. In just a few weeks, Gemma feels like a completely different dog. She doesn’t just respond to commands — her entire temperament has changed. She’s calmer, more relaxed, and clearly more confident. After just a few training sessions, she hardly pulls at all on walks and there is rarely any tension on the leash. I’m confident that very soon we’ll be able to take her to public places without worrying about potential behavior issues. We’re excited to see the progress she continues to make in the coming weeks. Honestly, if Gemma had been like this from the start, we probably wouldn’t have needed training at all. We’re so grateful for the transformation Andrew has helped create.

I can not in good faith recommend or justify the over $1800 cost for this program. The owner comes over to visit to market this program as a sales tactic. After he has you talk about all of your issues currently to make you feel vulnerable, he offers you an exclusive wonder program that will fix everything (like a miracle drug) that he doesn't offer to everyone, so you must act now. There's basically a 4 step process that starts with an Easter egghunt (scatter feeding), teaching yes and rewarding, behaviors to spray vinegar & water for, then behavioral downs, and finally loose leash walking. All of these things can be found online and he didn't invent any of it. His videos are long and boring, the video calls are the same questions of what worked or what to work on, and the Facebook page is no different really. My biggest waste of money this year! Last year was an ancestry genealogist.
