Divine Canine Solutions

We met Ricky when our dog's behavior seemed out of control. While our dog was content and sweet with us and our family, he would get aggressive with some dogs and people he didn't know. Ricky taught us how to keep our dog's attention and show him that we were far more interesting than other dogs and people. Ricky's method taught us how to control our dog and gave us "tools" that have built tremendous confidence when going for walks and taking our dog in public. Our favorite activities like hiking and walking used to create anxiety, but now we look forward to it. Ricky also has a great way of interpreting your dogs behavior so that it makes sense. We have been very pleased!

I have an 8 month old German Shepherd, and I am currently enrolled in my 3rd class at Divine Canine Solutions, my goal is that Gatsby will be a therapy dog. Divine Canine Solutions is not your ordinary dog school, it goes above and beyond basic obedience dog training I have been to in the past, we have classroom days and also field trips where dogs are exposed to a variety of people,places, and things exposing the dogs to everyday factors of everyday life. Ricky’s passion & knowledge for working with dogs is apparent in every class. I have no doubt Gatsby will achieve our goal!

I am very picky when it comes to dog training, I have been in classes before and quite frankly I got bored... very bored and stopped going. I wanted to learn more than just teaching my dog “sit” ok puppy now do “down” in a classroom, and than go in the real world and my dog wouldn’t listen to one thing I said. When I got my Golden retriever who is now 5 months, I researched a trainer who would help me push my dog and myself so I would stay interested in and look forward to going back every time. I found Ricky. I started my dog Holly at 8 weeks, at 15 weeks she got her Canine Good Citizen, yes 15 weeks... she took her test in the middle of Elizabeth park on a Saturday with literally hundreds of people around. This would have never been possible with out the guidance of Ricky, he pushed us as a team and we did it. Now we are going on our 15th week of classes every Monday, and we take advantage of his drop in classes every Saturday. We just did our first urban drop in class on Friday at Blue Back in West Hartford and loved it, we are going to try to start going to those ones too. My mother who loves dogs but doesn’t know very much as far as training is concerned came with me on Friday and couldn’t stop talking about how Ricky is the real deal and makes you feel comfortable, she found the class very informative and said she learned a lot! Seriously if you are considering training your dog don’t look any further come join us and have a blast learning with your dog at Divine Canine Solutions. I would like to think our class has become more like family, everyone enjoys each other’s company and we are all there for a common purpose to train our dogs and have fun doing it!

Ricky was the first person to work with one of my dogs back when he was 12 weeks old. I followed Ricky when he opened Divine Canine and enrolled my new puppy in his Divine Puppy class. We are regulars at his Urban drop in class. Ricky’s method is more than just a “click and treat” approach to dog training. He helps connect owners and dogs with training methods best suited for their individual relationship.
