Diamond Dog Academy

Diamond Dog Academy and Randy have been absolute life savers for my husband and I, and our dog Cheddar. Before training, we dreaded walking him and never brought him anywhere outside of our regular neighborhood walks due to his overly excitable energy levels and his desire to eat everything (including poisonous mushrooms). We also dreaded our daily walks because of his reaction to other dogs and multiple escape attempts. From our first session with Randy, we saw huge improvements in Cheddar's behavior and have learned so much from the sessions. We are well equipped to keep making improvements with Cheddar's behavior over time and are really looking forward to doing off-leash training in the spring to further improve our skills and our relationship with Cheddar! Now, he gets to come with us on all of our dog-friendly adventures and gets to enjoy a lot more fun adventures with us. We cannot recommend Randy enough for anyone that is having trouble managing their dog's behavior. Our only regret is that we didn't find him earlier!

We can’t thank Randy and Diamond Dog Academy enough! My wife and I brought our two year old pup (Cheddar) to Randy after a failed Petco “training program,” many giardia vet bills, and numerous escape attempts. We eventually stopped taking him places and going on long walks because of his chaotic energy. We decided to bring him to Diamond Dog Academy as a last attempt. We saw great results after just one session with Randy. My wife and I immediately signed up for more classes. Cheddar is a completely different dog after our training. He’s still a goofball, but he now walks perfectly on the leash, doesn’t get worked up over other dogs, and stays when we tell him to stay. Randy is kind, patient, and an all around great guy. He cares about your dog’s wellbeing, thoughtfully answers your questions, and makes you feel comfortable every step of the way. His sessions/ packages are reasonably priced and worth every penny. We can’t wait to sign up for off leash training this spring!

As a new dog owner (and previous cat mom), I had no idea what to expect of my 100+ lb dog. I knew from experience the types of qualities I absolutely did not want my dog to display (pulling on a leash, barking at other dogs, being aggressive with people and other animals, and just not listening). Randy took me through his balanced approach method, and while it required commitment and hard work — it absolutely got me the results I was looking for. I learned that if I expect commitment and consistency from my dog, I need to be willing to give him the same. Randy trains owners and dogs to be a team, building strong bonds that are reliable in any situation. I feel completely comfortable taking my dog on a walk with or without a leash, knowing that he will stay right by my side. I trust that in a crowded space like a hiking trail or farmers market, my boy will be on his best behavior, always. Diamond Dog Academy has really changed my perspective on dog ownership, showing me the true potential of the bond I’ve created with my dog.
