Denver Dog Whisperer

I've been scared to review because of the way Donni attacks and threatens people who leave negative reviews but it's worth warning others now that I'm no longer in the area. I hired DDW a couple years ago to help with my reactive dog who was not adjusting well after our move. I had a great phone conversation and was very excited. We did our initial evaluation during which Donni acted scared of my dog, put him in my spare room, and slammed the door on him whenever he barked at her (the exact reason I was seeking help). She left halfway through the session promising to come back later that week. I paid the full price for the consultation but only got half the promised time. She had me meet her at a dog park later that week. She let my dog off leash and just walked off saying we needed to keep moving and he would be fine. As I was seeking help for reactivity, this was insane and so lucky no one got hurt. I'm still embarrassed I let this happen but I was trusting a "professional ". I tried to ask questions during this dog park visit and Donni screamed at me saying I was invading her space and a whole slew of nasty comments about me. She then demanded more payment via text after originally saying this would be the second portion of the consultation we never finished, threatening to call animal control and get my "abused" dog taken from me if I didnt. It was a huge step backwards in my dogs training to use DDW and left him more anxious. We thankfully found a wonderful trainer and my dog is doing great with real professional help.

Had a regular call with Donni, at first, I set up a call via her website, Colorado Dog Whisperer. But ended up choosing a different dog training company. So I ended up not replying to her text attempts to come to my home for a home behavioral session. I simply wasn’t interested anymore and found a different school. Then it got weird. A few weeks later she threatened me via text saying I was a fraud and that she was going to report me to the police and have my dog taken away. Erratic would be the best description of her behavior, she jumped from 0-60 just because I didn’t text her back and chose someone else. I could never trust someone like that in my home or with my puppy. Needless to say I’m quite glad I chose a different company.

I can't say enough great things about Donnie at the Denver Dog Whisperer. What a difference! My dog wasn't a bad dog but he was disrespectful and domineering. Donni explained the psychology behind what was happening and gave me tons of tools to right the situation. She also was wonderful about answering my follow up questions with an additional phone conversation so I was able to feel confident about the actions I was taking. My disrespectful dog is now obedient, respectful and happy! Donni, I can't thank you enough!
