If you are looking for a dog trainer who is knowledgeable, patient (with dog and human), and a creative problem solver, Kit is your trainer! I've worked with Kit in a couple of ways - she was my faculty advisor at the Victoria Stilwell Academy for Dog Training and Behavior, and she has continued to work with me on my "difficult" case, my dog Max. In both capacities, she has motivated me to be a better dog trainer and dog guardian - not only with her patience and skills, but with a wonderful generosity and kindness that has helped me so much in my struggles with Max. Dealing with a dog with behavioral challenges can be disheartening, and just seeing Kit's brilliant smile on the Zoom screen helps me believe that everything is going to be ok. My older Akita female and 10 month old Akita puppy started getting in fights that were pretty scary. I was having to keep both my dogs apart and feared it would turn into a permanent situation. I reached out to Kit to first help with the puppy and she worked magic in getting him to learn basic commands and impulse control so that he now leaves my older girl alone and respects her space. We also worked on muzzle training for both of them for emergencies and I never thought my older stubborn girl would get used to a muzzle but she’s done so well. Both my dogs are able to be in the same space again, calmly and my puppy does well with recall and also our walks are so much better with him not reacting to distractions. In such a short time, Kit was able to bring peace back in my home and I couldn’t be more thankful. I also appreciated her understanding my dogs breed and characteristics and working with that as opposed to trying to change their instinctual behavior. She showed me how best to redirect the unwanted behavior. I cannot recommend Kit enough!
