Copperwood Kennels

All I can say is wow. I did a lot of research before picking Matt at Copperwood Kennels. Having experience with police K9’s, I knew right away that I wanted my hunting dog to be just as squared away. I remember dropping my dog off, who was a rough canvas (putting it nicely lol), and then picking her up a few months later as a squared away dog and much more. Matt’s ability to figure out each dog that comes to him and able to mold them into a versatile dog is amazing upon its self. My dog will be going back to Matt for some clean up work and I already got another pup for him to mold. I will continue to do business with Copperwood Kennels as long as they are in business.

If I could post a video I would! I’ve had my slightly older dog (2 years old) with Matt at Copperwood kennels for a few months. Granted, he’s an awesome dog but Matt has done amazing things with him given how old he is. Many dogs whose owners I know have gone through here and can be credited with hundreds of retrieves in their first season alone. Communication is awesome and Matt gives a REAL review of your dog’s progress and will let you know early if he doesn’t think your dog will take to training so you’re not wasting money. EDIT: just picked him up a couple days ago. This dog is AWESOME! I take him out every day and I’m not disappointed at all! Matt gave me a run down on his call words that he was trained on and how he will probably try to push the boundaries (like any kid with a “new” authority figure because he’s been gone so long) but told me just to be firm and consistent and it took no time at all. He is still my best friend (after my wife) and understands who the boss is while still being his old knucklehead self which is the dog I love. Couldn’t ask for a better trainer! Thank you Matt!!!
