FirstBarkTom Kelly and the entire Contented Canines program is great! He knows his stuff and how to help you and your dog become a great team with you as the leader. Just keep in mind that YOU have to put in the work as well in between classes and after the program is over. Well worth the time and money!

Tom Kelly is a retired U.S Army Colonel with over 29 years of service. He has trained with Cesar Milan, Heather Beck, Martin Deeley, and Nelson Hodges. Tom is a Certified Trainer and Canine Behavior Specialist graduate of Starmark Academy for Professional Dog Trainers in Hutto, TX. He is also a CHRI-RBT certified trainer. Do you provide ESA training and certifications?
ESA requires a Dr (psych)/ psychologist to prescribe the need for a dog as part of treatment. Having an ESA does not provide any public access rights except for housing. There is no ESA certification. There is training like Canine Good Citizen training and other public access training that is helpful to improving life for you and your dog— THAT I do!

I went to 5 classes led by Tom. We brought our 5 month old lab to the class and we saw great improvements to her demeanor. Our puppy, Penelope certainly learned a lot, but my wife and I also learned how to approach and handle her that's made our lives a lot easier. We will continue to utilize what Tom thought us to bring up Penelope to be the best dog she can be. Additionally, Tom is very responsive to emails and texts if you have questions before or after class. I would highly recommend his class if you're serious about learning about how to speak to your dog to get the best results possible.
We completed foundation1 class and we are happy. Our dog is more calm and happy after this class. It was a bondind time for my son, our dog adopted from PET inc shelter and I.

Tom called me and was giving me advice right away and made time for me and my family! From day 1 he was giving us pointers in bettering our relationship as dog/human family. If you need help Tom is the one! ❤️ We attended the group class and Tom made sure from the beginning we were comfortable and took the extra time we needed to understand the steps needed to be the perfect pack leader.

I have two English bulldogs. I've had one since she was a puppy and the other is a rescue that was 2 yrs old when I adopted her last summer. Initially my rescue was scared of everything. She wouldn't walk through doorways, couldn't walk on a leash without trembling and dodging even parked cars. And then she and my other dog started fighting! I tried a trainer as well as a Veterinary Behavior Specialist but neither helped. I am so grateful that I found Colonel Tom Kelly at Contented Canines. I took the Foundation Course privately due to logistics. I learned how to take a stronger leadership role, provide better structure, more consistency, and clearer communication. Both dogs have made big improvements. My rescue dog walks great on leash now and has much less general anxiety and we are making progress eliminating the fights. I highly recommend Colonel Kelly and Contented Canines.
