Command Canine

We had an incredible experience with JaXx at Command Canine! From day one, she took the time to truly understand our dog Obi—his personality, triggers, and the behaviors we wanted to improve. Before training, Obi struggled with significant reactivity and resource guarding toward me, my husband, and our other dog, Chewie. Walks were stressful because he would lunge and pull, and he barked at anyone who walked by or came into our home. He was generally anxious and always on high alert. Throughout his three-week board-and-train, we received daily updates with videos and photos, which gave us so much confidence in his progress. One of the things we appreciated most was that Obi stayed in JaXx's home rather than a training facility. Knowing he was in a comfortable, home-like environment made a huge difference and gave us so much peace of mind. When Obi came home, JaXx spent two hours with us for a transition lesson, making sure we understood how to maintain his training. We also signed up for five in-home follow-up sessions for both Obi and Chewie so we can continue building on his success. Training is a lifelong commitment, but the difference in Obi is remarkable. He's more focused on us instead of every distraction around him, responds reliably to commands, and redirects quickly with minimal correction. Most importantly, he seems more confident and settled. We can't recommend JaXx and Command Canine enough. If you're looking for a trainer who genuinely cares about your dog and equips you with the tools to be successful long after training ends, this is the place.

We did a two week board & train program with Nick and could not have had a better experience. Our 8 month old golden came back home a different dog and the follow up lessons with Nick were incredibly helpful. He was also very communicative while training her, sent helpful video updates and photos, and continues to be an excellent source of knowledge and information as we continue the process. Though it’s clear he is an excellent dog trainer, he also is patient and great at people training to ensure the dog’s good behavior sticks. In the follow up meeting, he helped us diagnose some things and was very good at giving us solutions and strategies to continue to improve our dog’s behavior. Also, it doesn’t hurt that Nick is a very, very nice person and is a pleasure to speak with. Could not recommend Nick and CC enough!

We can’t say enough great things about Nick and the incredible job he did with our Bernedoodle, Rollo! From the very beginning, Nick took the time to meet with our family in our home to understand our goals, routines, and the specific behaviors we wanted to improve. It was clear that he cared about creating a training plan that fit both Rollo and our family. The transformation has been amazing. Rollo came home as a much more well-mannered, confident, and enjoyable companion. What impressed us most was that Nick didn’t just train our dog—he trained us too. When Rollo returned home, Nick spent time with every member of our family, demonstrating the commands, explaining how to reinforce the training, and making sure we all felt confident moving forward. Perhaps the best endorsement of all was seeing how much Rollo loved Nick. It was obvious that he had been well cared for, happy, and treated with kindness while he was away. That gave us tremendous peace of mind. If you’re looking for a trainer who truly invests in both your dog and your family, we wholeheartedly recommend Nick. The results have exceeded our expectations, and we’re so grateful for everything he has done for Rollo.

I am beyond happy with my experience with Command Canine. From the first intro call it was clear that they focus on individualized goals and plans, asking specifically what I want to work on and the issues we are having in our household. Nick was our trainer (and honestly writing “was” feels very sad), and he went above and beyond at every turn. Our puppy, Luna, was not easy by any means but she genuinely feels like a different dog now. It’s not a focus on commands, it’s a focus on improving their mental state, calming them, teaching them to communicate with you. I feel closer to Luna than I’ve ever been (and she is a good girl now). Thank you so much for everything!!!

My 6 month old Corgi stayed with JaXx for a 3 week board and train and I am very happy about the results! Evie is much happier and more confident than she was before the board and train, and she has continued to build on that every day since returning home. I am also more confident working (and playing) with Evie and my entire family has felt the wonderful impact of her experience. JaXx, and everyone at Command Canine that I've interacted with, are top notch. JaXx made me a part of Evie's journey during her time in the program, sending me updates of what they worked on each day and Evie's progress. The handoff training at the end set me and Evie up for continued success, and so far we've completed one group class (a pack walk) that showcased how far Evie has come in a short amount of time. It was lovely! I know I can keep it going and enjoy many years to come with my pup anywhere we want to go.
