Command Canine

I truly don’t know where my dog, Oakley, and I would be without Chelsey and Command Canine. I have the sweetest pup but, unfortunately, he is very reactive to anything outside of the home, especially strangers and other dogs. He would drag me on the leash, lunge and growl at strangers and other dogs, panic when he was in an unfamiliar space or heard an unfamiliar noise, completely ignore me when he saw a trigger… the list goes on and on. I reached out to Chelsey feeling lost, overwhelmed, ashamed and helpless but she assured me it is not abnormal to be dealing with a reactive dog. I mean it when I say our training with her changed OUR lives - mine and my dog’s - for the better! She taught me so much about understanding my dog’s behavior and being able to recognize and address his triggers before they become a problem for him. She led by example in walking us through endless amounts of training exercises and was always available when I had questions outside of our training sessions. The whole experience was phenomenal. Her knowledge of a dog’s behavior is next level, but what impressed me the most was how she applied it. Oakley took to all of the training so quickly except for with one thing. No matter how many times we tried a certain exercise with him he was not taking to it. Instead of continuing to try and force a certain behavior out of him, which is what I feared most with dog training, she said “this isn’t working for him, let’s try something else”. That “something else” is still what we do 2 years later and works perfectly for us. She didn’t have forceful pride in her initial approach with him. She cared about and understood him and used her knowledge to find an abnormal approach that would work for him. Outstanding! I am now more confident during outdoor ventures with my dog and he is also more confident in himself and looks to me when he’s unsure, now trusting I will always do what’s best for him. This is 100% because of his training. Training a reactive dog is HARD! But working with Chelsey and Command Canine made it all make sense and was completely worth it. I cannot recommend them enough!

I recently had the pleasure of working with Command Canine and Shanty, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From start to finish, the experience with my 1 year old lab from start to finish was amazing. Shanty’s dedication and love for dogs shows in her work. Command Canine and Shanty gave a personalized approach to Dixie’s training. Shanty’s individualized attention made all the difference and led to remarkable progress in a relatively short amount of time. Overall, I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with Command Canine and Shanty!

A well behaved dog is a happy dog. I can't say enough good things about Sydney and Chelsea at Command Canine. After being rehomed, Christopher Robin aka Chris had a few manners but needed some more reinforcement. He also needed a real boost in confidence to feel secure. He was a good dog but now with the training techniques and one on one training with Command Canines; he is a great dog! He loves everyone he meets (he thought everyone needed to be given a hug by jumping up and putting his front paws on them). Chelsea and Sydney helped us work with Chris to be a better mannered dog when on walks and when strangers came to the house. Chris also thought every bunny, squirrel or cat needed to be chased pulling me along the way. With the help of Command Canines, Chris now can avoid the temptation of small critters and focus on walking. He also will sit and stay until released. He also can go in the yard to potty in rain or late at night off leash and comes right back to us thanks to the Mini Educator collar that Chelsea and Sydney recommended and helped teach us the best way to use. Although Chris loves everyone he meets he was having some behavior issues (growling, barking and charging) when it came to my son. If he wasn't doing those things he was doing what I called sharking, continually pacing and walking around to keep an eye on my son. And though he still barks at my son when he enters the house, Chris now knows to go to bed/place and stay on command. We continue to use the tips and techniques to improve Chris's behavior towards my son and maintain the good habits on walks. But overall he has made a huge improvement. Would highly recommend!

Command Canine has completely saved my dog’s life and our well being. We have a springer spaniel that is the absolute light of her life but she is aggressive with strangers. It got to the point where she was even beginning to show aggression towards my husband and I. We were scared and worried that a behavioral euthanasia was in our future because it seemed things were only progressing for the worse. We called and spoke with multiple trainers. We were denied by the first and told that our dog was a safety risk and should be euthanized. A few others told us they could help but it felt like false hope. When we called command canine we spoke with Lynne for over an hour. In this time she asked us so many in detail questions about Charley’s life to put the entire puzzle together and fully help our dog in the way she needed, not just by dominating her. Lynne was incredibly thorough and compassionate about our situation. What stood out to us was her knowledge. Lynne broke down every part of our dogs life to help find a root cause for the aggression. Charley was on a hormone medication for urinary incontinence issues and we came to the conclusion this was fueling her fire. Lynne spoke to us about this as well as what program would benefit Charley best and which trainer would be the best match for her issues. We stopped her meds and Charley did the board and train for 3 weeks with Chelsea, the owner of command canine. The entire process we felt so so comfortable. Chelsea was sure to update us every day with detailed reports, pictures, and videos. Having a fearful dog…command canine stuck out to us because the training is one on one and in the comfortable setting of the trainers home, not a stressful kennel. Charley came back to us in a mental state and level of obedience we never imagined possible. Command Canine practices actual behavior modification techniques that truly work to reset your dogs brain and thinking. Charley was sent back to us with so much detail/lessons about her training and continuance guidance from Chelsea. We cannot be more thrilled to have our dog back! We truly believe the outcome would have been different if we chose to go with another trainer. We made an investment in our dog that was well worth it, our dog has her life back!
