We had an incredible experience working with Dean and Riley. Our dog, Ivy, had some challenges with leash manners and would get overly excited—especially jumping on people both at home and in public settings. It was overwhelming at times, and we weren’t sure what to do. The trainers were knowledgeable, patient, and truly dedicated to helping both our dog and us understand how to build better habits. They didn’t just train our dog—they gave us the tools and confidence to reinforce the training at home and in everyday life. Now, walks (both on and off leash!) are enjoyable instead of stressful. Our dog is much more attentive and responsive, and guests can come to the door without being greeted with an enthusiastic leap! It’s been a huge transformation. My husband and I have a Dutch Shepherd that is 4.5 years old and I was struggling with him. He’s been a high energy dog, but when you mix that with a baby, one tends to struggle. He has never had professional training, because we are from West Virginia where resources are few and far between for a Dutch. Our Dutch was having a lot of stubbornness, anxiety, and reactivity. Thankfully we found Mitch and Dean, and now we have a more controlled and relaxed dog. He seems more comfortable in his own skin now too. The board and train program was without a doubt worth it. Trust the process. Also, the biggest weight off my back personally is knowing we can board him safely with someone. We always had to take the Dutch with us anywhere we went and it’s not fun with a reactive dog. (And now baby). Also, he came back smelling amazing! Their grooming team is great! They’re easy to get a hold of too, bless their hearts. I know we drove them nuts. 😂

We had dropped our dog off back in June for a board and train. We got lucky to have Dean spending a lot of time with Dewey (our dog) and train him. Dean was very friendly, very easy to communicate with, and answered any questions we had in a timely manner! Dean also sent us photo upsets of Dewey with a little brief summary about what they were working on and how Dewey was doing. I Couldn’t recommend Christian K-9 Academy enough. Everyone made the whole process run very smoothly from beginning to end.

I can’t recommend Christian K9 enough! From the moment we walked in, the team was warm, professional, and clearly passionate about what they do. They took the time to understand my dog’s personality and needs, as he’s a little skittish, and the results have been incredible. My boy Dewey is not only better behaved but also happier and more confident on and off the leash. Dean was the one I mostly talked to and was sure to send me updates and photos/videos of my boy. They use positive reinforcement techniques (giant meat ball like treats) that really work well for Dewey as he likes to pretend he’s got a black hole for a stomach. Whether you’re dealing with basic obedience or more serious behavior issues, this is the place to go. I plan on continuing to go here with any future dogs!
