Chomps Dog Training

Nick and Nicole (and the other trainers on their team) are truly exceptional at what they do. I have worked with them with two very different dogs and they were able to truly help them both. The first dog was very dog reactive and had been through several training programs before meeting with Nick. I was planning on bringing home a puppy and wanted support in helping introduce her to the new dog. When Nick met with her for an evaluation, I could instantly see a difference in how she responded him and how well Nick understood her. His advice helped us to have a very smooth transition to having a second dog in the home. I continue to be amazed at how well she responded to him and how well he understood her behavior within just a few minutes of knowing her. Even though she didn't get to be formally trained by him (due to her developing cancer a few months before she was scheduled to train), working with him in even just the evaluation was so incredibly beneficial. Nick even took the time to watch video of my two dogs interacting to help me understand their body language and ensure a positive transition/experience for both dogs. I can only imagine how positive it would have been if she had been fully trained with him! My other dog went through the puppy board and train program. His obedience and basic training, both on and off leash, is amazing and I often get compliments on how well trained he is. People are shocked when they find out how young he is with how good his training is! He is ready to pass his Canine Good Citizen test (and some additional certification to become a therapy dog to work with me) at just 16 months old. He has also boarded with Chomps and participated in Nicole's adventure camp both of which he loves! You can tell that all of the trainers truly know him, his personality, and needs and they work so well to create a positive learning environment for him. They also give great transitional training (to me) and tips for how to best work with him to support me being successful in continuing to work with him. I have worked with multiple dog trainers throughout the years and my experience with Chomps has been truly one of the best. I would trust them to train any dog I have in my life, especially given the range of goals and needs they have demonstrated themselves to be confident and capable at achieving. They listen to what your goals are for your dog and work with you to help achieve those goals, while also being open and honest about what will help your dog to live the happiest and most fulfilling life possible.

I’m not sure why there are so many positive reviews on here, maybe they are bought. I have been hesitant to leave a review because I usually never do. However, I sent my dog there for adult training and he returned afraid and reactive of all people outside of our family. As though he had been treated very harshly at the training center. He was taught nothing more than to sit in his bed. The shock colors are truly not a good way to teach or treat a dog. Since then we met with a much cheaper private trainer who used positive reinforcement and he is such a good listener. My dog was never afraid or nervous before and now he is. Don’t send you dog here if you care about there mental wellbeing.

If you’ve been researching dog trainers, just call and talk to Chomps! Nick, Nicole, and Carson are incredible! We brought our puppy Theodore to their puppy training school when he was completely nonresponsive to any training we tried. He was so difficult to manage that we had two young girls we couldn’t even let on the ground when he was in the room. When we got him back, he was a completely changed dog. Theodore has always been a very stubborn, high-energy dog, and honestly, we don’t know where we would be without Chomps. We truly don’t think we would have been able to keep him had we not brought him to them for training. We are so incredibly grateful not only for the training Theodore received, but also for all the tools and knowledge they taught us as owners. He is almost 2 years old now, and we have used their alumni boarding many times since his graduation. The boarding is so easy and stress-free because we know they take the absolute best care of their animals. They have gone above and beyond for us every single time. Theodore also goes to Adventure Camp with Nicole every Tuesday, and we absolutely love it! Nicole has such an incredible passion and natural skill for working with dogs. We get pictures every week from his adventures, and I’m constantly amazed by all the things she is able to do with Theodore and his alumni pack. These adventures have been amazing for keeping him engaged with his training, giving him an outlet for all his energy, and, most importantly, letting him have fun being a dog. We are so incredibly grateful for everything Nick, Nicole, and the entire Chomps team have done for our family. They didn’t just train our dog—they gave us the tools to build a life with him that we honestly weren’t sure was possible. We can’t recommend Chomps enough! 🐾❤️

We’ve sent two dogs through Chomps training programs with great success. After years of trying many different trainers, Nick and his team helped our reactive dog Sawyer SO much and enabled us to bring him along on many adventures as a happy, balanced dog. More recently they trained our newly adopted 1 year old lab, Junie. People are constantly telling us how amazingly well behaved and obedient she is. They helped us control her excitement and seemingly boundless energy by creating forced rest and structure. We now have a very young dog fully capable of off-leash hiking, mountain biking, swimming, skiing, etc. thanks to the additional “adventure” training. Can’t recommend Chomps highly enough.
