I dropped off my Labrador Retriever, Mako, with Jody when he was about 6 months old. Mako was not a traditional lab puppy as he showed little interest in retrieving and was not extremely energetic. During the first month of training I was blown away by the results that Jody produced with Mako, especially on the obedience side. Being from North Carolina, it was tough for me to visit and train with Mako during the week, Jody never hesitated at any point to give up his time during the weekend to help me train and get experience with running Mako. Jody was extremely patient with Mako, knowing that he needed to not only teach the dog what to do, but also boast Makos enthusiasm to retrieve. A few months into the training Mako was running blind retrieves responding to all of Jody’s commands whether it was verbal, hand signals, or whistle. Probably the thing I was most impressed with Jody was his patience and knowledge about teaching the owner what to do. I spent a considerable amount of time with Mako and Jody and can easily say Jody spent just as much time making sure I knew how to properly get the results out of Mako, as he did training the dog. I now have Mako back in NC where we train nearly everyday. He completely understands when it’s time to work and when it’s time to play. I could not be happier with the results Jody produced. I highly recommend him for any type of dog training.

I took my English Springer Spaniel, Millie, to Jody. She was full of energy and young. I went out several times throughout the process and watched him interact with her. It was remarkable how quickly she learned obedience and retrieving commands (voice, whistle and hand commands). Jody is extremely patient with the dogs he trains, never getting mad when they are not doing what he wants. He was just as patient with me, correcting some of my mistakes while I worked Millie. Today, Millie is still very full of energy, but is very controllable due to the training Jody did. She knows when it's time to play and run around and when it's time to be serious and work. She is a retrieving machine. I highly recommend Jody if you are looking for a trainer.
