We contacted Transition Dog Training when we adopted a new dog that needed some basic manners training. He is a super sweet dog but his over excitement when guests came over was becoming problematic and we couldn’t enjoy a walk as every time he would see another dog I’d get yanked in that direction. After a few in home lessons with Bre we not only solved his problematic behaviors but learned some other skills that have come in handy while he settles into our home. Bre was amazing to work with answering our questions in-between lessons and providing us with on going support when needed.

We reached out to Breanna for a consultation for our 5 year old dog Thunder who had started displaying dog reactivity. It was a nightmare to bring him out in public because he would lose his mind at the sight of another dog. He would pull, bark, and yell which made it really hard to control him. We also noticed that his anxiety was through the roof after a neighbor adopted a yappy dog next door. After he got into a scuffle with this neighbor dog we decided we needed some help. We reached out, chatted about the issues we were having with Thunder, and scheduled a private lesson. Breanna came to the house, observed how Thunder was in the home and out on a walk. She quickly formulated a plan for Thunder and helped us immensely. Within a few weeks we started noticing that Thunder was able to relax more even while the neighbor dog was barking. I also now had the tools to be able to bring Thunder out for walks and confidently know I could handle whatever came our way. We were even able to go to pet stores and enjoy ourselves!! I cannot thank Breanna enough for helping not only Thunder but us, his owners, in making Thunder’s life more enjoyable and less chaotic.

I HIGHLY recommend Transition Dog Training!! We adopted a young pup (Porkchop is his name) and got him into dog training classes quickly. He excelled with his basic obedience training but was really only listening when he was in the “zone” or training. He got overstimulated quickly and wouldn’t pay attention because sniffing around or begging for attention was more rewarding than anything I could give him. He started hitting his teenaged years and this go, go, go mentality was starting to be an issue. We reached out to Breanna at Transition Dog Training and described the issues we were having. We met up and she observed for a bit and pinpointed the things that Porkchop (and I) were struggling with and recommended some exercises to work on. Mostly, Porkchop needed to learn how to relax and chill out under his own will power and he needed to work on handling his emotions like any teenaged boy would, haha. We started private lessons with Breanna and it was WILD how quickly we started to see results. Rather than learning the typical sit, stay, come, etc that you get with many dog trainers Breanna gave us behavioral exercises to do with Porkchop that is helping train his brain to have more impulse control and learning that you don’t need to be constantly doing something and relaxing is great too! It’s been so fun and SO rewarding seeing the progress with Porkchop and I. I absolutely recommend Transition Dog Training especially for those who would like to work on behavioral changes with their pup beyond basic obedience.
