Cape Fearless Dog Training

Haapy family again! After our senior doggie passed, we knew we needed to find the right trainor to help our sweet puppy bear finish navigating his adolescent puppy training. We went to 5 dog training classes and also had 3 home visits with Maya to help our 9 mo. old petite golden doodle. We noticed improvement with each class. Even friends who visited 6 weeks apart commented on the notable improvement in his behavior. At first his puppy excitement, along with the many distractions at the park seemed overwhelming. But we now are able to successfully go for park visits and even navigate resturants on occasion equipped with the strategies Maya patiently taught us. We were given specifically tailored approaches at our home visits. We all felt how much she cared about our success. Maya in knowledgeable instructor and shared many great tips that empowered us with knowledge and confidence as puppy parents. We still have to keep working on our lessons, but we now feel better equipped to help our puppy become a calm, well trained dog citizen that will allow us to chill or enjoy an active lifestyle together. After my husband passed away, my dog Rory developed severe separation anxiety that included peeing on the floor when I left the house. We previously worked with another trainer, but unfortunately, Rory was scared by the methods used, and we didn’t see much improvement From the moment Maya met Rory, it was clear that she had a special connection with her. Rory immediately felt safe with Maya, and I could see how much she genuinely cared for her. Maya’s calm, positive approach gave me so much peace of mind, and I could tell that Rory felt truly supported. I honestly didn’t think these results were possible. Maya changed my life. I’m so grateful for the patience and care she has shown the both of us. I can’t recommend Maya enough!

This review is long overdue! Maya worked with us throughout the course of a year helping our “highly reactive” puppy learn to fit into our home. She always had suggestions and tips and new things to try as we were starting to lose our minds with this one! Maya is so very patient, never made us feel like we were the problem (even when we hadn’t worked on things as promised), and was always willing to keep trying to help our puppy. She also helped us navigate doggie attitudes we were seeing in our other two dogs - when she showed up to the house, all three dogs were on their best behavior for treats. Maya always sits down on the floor to greet them and shows them lots of affection. Any continuing issues we may have with our puppy are definitely our fault, but she has become such a joy in our home! We highly recommend Maya for all your training needs and she won’t give up on your puppy (even when sometimes you may want to!!)

Maya was absolutely FANTASTIC to work with. She was patient and understanding with our anxious boy. In just 6 sessions she taught him (and us!) so much and her lessons have made a world of a difference for Jack’s obedience whether it’s at home, on walks around the neighborhood, or out in the world. Jack is an 8yr old pittie so we weren’t sure how much he’d take away from training at his age. But I’m excited to say that if there’s anyone who can teach an old dog new tricks, it is Maya! Jack now knows and listens to all basic commands and even learned some new tricks. Maya also worked with us to learn how to de-sensitize him to things like the doorbell, knocking, and various other triggers we might encounter on walks (loud cars or lawnmowers for example). Jack’s door manners have improved so much which I never thought would be possible. We are so pleased with the experience with Cape Fearless Dog Training and would recommend them to anyone searching for the perfect dog trainer. Maya is professional, flexible to whatever schedule you need, and always adaptable to what is best for your dog.
