Thank you for your inquiry. No. CTCorps does not currently require its therapy animals to be altered.

What type of training does the dog have to have to participate?

Enough training where a dog can pass every part of the test. The dog must score a 100% to pass the test.

My 5-month old pup has been going to CTC since she was 9 weeks old and she has loved every minute! We have attended both private sessions and the puppy class since then and can’t wait to start the next session in just a few weeks. My pup has learned so many wonderful things and is so well behaved due to the training and encouragement from all the trainers and staff at CTC. There is no other place I’d rather train my pup and they’re also so helpful with learning about dog sports and obedience as well.

Not only is Canine Therapy Corps providing wonderful services throughout the Chicago area that are helping children and adults improve their physical and emotional well-being, the organization's training facility is the place to go for top-notch instruction. My dog Rosie and I took a class there, and I found the experienced trainers to be highly professional, compassionate, and encouraging. Whether you're thinking of pursuing therapy work with your pup, or just looking for a supportive environment to strengthen your skills and build a bond with your dog that will lead to better behaviors... I highly recommend CTC.

Trainers and dog handlers are great. I attended a therapy session where Veterans were able to work with dogs to run through an obstacle course. The session went great and the Veterans were able to get the dogs to follow their commands and run through a tough course with multiple obstacles. The Veterans clearly enjoyed it and showed pride in successfully completing the course.
