My dog is so particular with the people and places he likes. Before his first training session with me he did a board and train, when we pull up he is excited. He doesn’t great people till he has met them multiple times, he runs in and jumps on all the people who work there. It speaks so much to me that he is so comfortable. Our training sessions are thoughtful, they see how he is reacting and think about how to make it work better for him. I have a trainable dog but they have helped me and him worked together more. I would recommend them to anyone

3 years ago I came to CPHD as my dog Joey is reactive. He’s ppl reactive which is difficult or has stranger danger. Can’t have ppl he doesn’t know in my home. Michael & Casey were great that 1st day I walked in. Casey was our trainer & I learned a lot & Joey is now not leash reactive, not dog reactive, he’s better at recall, & she taught me to manage Joey at home. I finally put window coverings up which are pretty, play music when I am gone & learned to close my door when Joey barked incessantly at ppl going by. Recently Meredith reached out to me to work on Joey’s ppl reactivity. We are working w trainer, Sarah, which is good. Joey loves Casey & it’s good to switch trainers as he’s good w Sarah. Sarah taught us a protocol & we practice w her guidance w friends & neighbors. It’s working! I recommend nosework for reactive dogs & we are taking classes at different locations. CPHD is an Investment & I value the training. As Casey told me, we must grow Joey’s circle of ppl. She also helped me w tools. A muzzle, long line & harness are key tools w any dog & having a trainer who is knowledgeable is essential. Communication is most important especially w us humans, after all the trainers are training us more than the dogs. After 3 years, we still have a way to go yet we have made major progress & I value Casey, Sarah, Michael & Meredith. Having a reactive dog is tough but there’s hope & experts.

Canine PhD is the first place we went when we recently adopted our Terrier puppy. The puppy social is an amazing way to socialize a puppy while supervised by an amazing team of trainers. Our pup is learning great self-control skills thanks to their expertise! Their puppy classes are a “must do” for anyone looking for the tools needed by every owner to raise a well behaved and well adjusted dog. The Canine PhD team are experts in helping dog owners understand and train their pups, using positive reinforcement tools that reward good behaviors. In a group class, our puppy is learning positive behaviors even when distractions from other pups are present. These are real life skills he will carry with him throughout his life. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Sarah and the incredible impact she’s had on our family and our foster-turned-forever-dog, Lucky! With Sarah’s guidance, my mom learned how to understand Lucky, feel in control, and even enjoy their time together. Watching her gain confidence around Lucky was just amazing. Sarah has truly been a lifesaver for our family, helping us every step of the way through challenges and victories. She helped us to understand Lucky, help us modify her behavior and, honestly, teach us so much in the process. We’re endlessly grateful for her warmth, knowledge, and dedication.
