Canine Perspective Dog Training: Lincoln Park Office

We can't recommend Jesse and his team highly enough. The change in our family's experience with our Labradoodle is night and day. Incessant barking, aggression toward other dogs, counter-surfing and every other variety of unwanted behavior have been dramatically reduced. They're not all gone, but we have the tools, skills and path forward. While it wasn't our goal, we know he'll soon even be off-leash capable around the city. Our dog is happier, calmer and has much more freedom. We only wish we'd found Jesse sooner and not just before we we're on the verge of re-homing our dog.

Reached out to Canine Perspective in June 2022 for our beagle/husky puppy. Our puppy was aggressive, used our dining room carpet as a toilet, chew and destroy our furniture, couldn't walk with a leash. In about 3 classes half of these things were corrected with Jesse's training techniques and knowledge. My dog after 8 weeks of training is a lot more confident, tells us when he has to go out for a break, doesn't chew or destroy anything besides his toys, and has really calmed down. I have a pregnant wife and wanted to make sure our puppy respects my wife and eventually knows how to behave when our baby is born. Jesse has set us up for this as well. Great experience, highly recommend.

Our German Shepherd, Luna, is a great dog, and she is very much a part of our family. Before we met Jesse in October, though, we were struggling a bit because of her leash reactivity as well as resource guarding us when guests arrived in our home. Jesse and team were incredibly helpful with both us humans and our sweet Luna by sharing their expertise and consistent, but kind and firm training. We learned so much, and Luna took so well to the training. We’d recommend Jesse and co to anyone who needs help with training their furbaby!

TLDR: best training you'll find anywhere! It's been one full year since my pup, Charlie completed training with Jesse & team and it has completely changed my life for the better! I now feel confident taking Charlie everywhere with me and get loads of compliments everywhere we go on what a good boy he is. Plus, having a better understanding of rules and expectations has helped Charlie feel more confident and less anxious generally--which makes me feel like a good dog mom. Before training, walks were almost unbearable due to the constant lunging and twirling and barking (especially at trucks and other dogs). Going for runs were out of the question with how much Charlie pulled and darted around. Taking him out in public was too scary to consider based on his barking and anxiety/aggression towards dogs (and occasionally nipping at humans). I was concerned e-collars wouldn't work (especially trying to train a dog that was older--9 years oldish), or would "change" my dog too much or would hurt him. I'm happy to say my fears were completely unfounded--Charlie is incredibly well behaved now and still loves to act goofy and play and snuggle. If anything, I think our bond has grown stronger and Charlie is happier to accompany me on more adventures! Jesse and team compassionately and professionally worked with my dog's personality and behaviors and helped me feel confident and in control no matter the situation. They know their stuff and I can tell they really care about dogs. This is seriously the best investment I've ever made in my best friend, Charlie, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
