Canine Karma Dog Training

We sent our 6-month-old puppy to Canine Karma Dog Training for a month-long board and train program due to some concerning resource guarding and aggression issues. It wasn’t an easy decision, but it turned out to be the best thing we could have done for him—and for us. When we picked him up, we spent several hours with Isabela and Dave learning their training methods. They were patient, thorough, and made sure we felt confident enough to continue the work at home. It’s been almost two weeks since he’s been back, and the change in him has been incredible. He’s still our goofy, lovable puppy, but now he’s also obedient, much easier to handle, and actually enjoyable to walk. The issues we were struggling with have dramatically improved, and we feel like we have the tools to keep him progressing. The training doesn’t stop when they come home, but thanks to the efforts of Isabela and Layla, we’re in a completely different place than we were before. We’re really grateful for the work they did and the guidance they gave us.

Our dog did a month long board and train at Canine Karma last year. Isabela and David are a great team and we are very happy with everything our dog learned during his training. To be transparent you can’t expect to send your dog off to training thinking they will come back “fixed”. David and Isabela will send you training videos to watch while your dog is away and you will learn as the dog learns. After training you will go back for one or two follow up lessons, and you will continue to train your dog for quite a while. Our life at home has been much more relaxed since training and walking him is so much better too. Before training going on walks with him was a nightmare, and now I can take both of our dogs out for relaxed walks all by myself. I highly recommend Canine Karma, and my only regret is that we didn’t seek their help sooner.

I really don’t know where to start. This place made me feel that I’m a long term friend. I was urged to leave on a business trip for 10 days and I was having hard time finding a place to board my dog Merlot. I found this amazing place and I spoke to Dave. Dave mentioned he would only accommodate a previous trained dogs at his place , but he still helped me and took care of my dog. I visited them and I saw an amazing place and I felt that they are not like other typical business opened for only money , but the opposite, which they are a great family ( Dave and Isabela)and they take their business as a family caring with pride. My dog came back happy , well trained , and chill. It was pleasure meeting and knowing this amazing family - business place. Thank you Dave and Isabela for everything and I’m looking forward to staying connected always.

This place is AMAZING! We drove 5 hours to take our dog Teddy for a board and train here. David and his team know what they are doing. Our dog had issues with biting and he was completely unmanageable. It was so bad that when I called David to explain what was going on, I was almost in tears. We chose to board and train our dog for 45 days and our dog is now completely transformed. I mean it. He is a joy to be around. He’s happy and fun and I’m no longer afraid of him. He’s still goofy and silly, but he is well trained and honestly, so are we. We work with him everyday and now, I can’t wait to play with him. My husband and I often say to each that these guys are worth every single penny we spent. I’m just so thankful. If you are looking for a dog training program that is evidence -based, high quality, ethical and run by people who truly understand and LOVE dogs- this is the place for you.

Our anxious pup Jane spent 30 days training with Isabela and Layla and she returned almost a new dog—and in the best way! She’s now been back with us for about 40 days and continues to improve weekly. Where Jane was scared of almost anything (flags, children, the WIND!), with her new training and the tools we learned, she can now experience the world without a complete freak out. Since anxiety is difficult to overcome, Jane sometimes still has moments, but they are less and less as we use the routine built for our family. We can tell that she is a happier and laid back dog. One of the best parts is that the relationship with the team doesn’t end after the boarding—you can continue to reach out and ask questions. It also includes at least two follow-up training sessions. You should choose Canine Karma if you’re ready to do the work yourself based on the excellent program that they give you. You’ll need to be committed to change. Definitely worth the investment!
