Canine Academy Columbus

We have had such a wonderful experience with Canine Academy and our trainer Shannon. Prior to training it felt like we could not communicate with our dog, which made our time with him frustrating. After his boarding and training we were finally working together. I know am now able to enjoy him rather than feeling overwhelmed by having a young dog in the home. Thank you Shannon, your passion and desire to problem solve are so evident and appreciated!

Jacey did an absolutely fantastic job training our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Marty. While Marty already had a solid foundation, he really struggled with consistency when it came to listening to commands. Jacey completely turned that around. Marty came home incredibly well-behaved and has been absolute joy to have around the family. The daily stress we used to feel is completely gone, and our household is so much more peaceful. We couldn't be happier with the results!

I am over the moon excited about the training and love Beanie received during his stay. He is in training to be our school therapy dog and during his stay he learned new skills and brushed up on some old ones. He had plenty of playtime with his new friends and was clearly loved on by everyone who worked with him. Emma took the time to understand Beanie’s baseline and built on those skills to provide the best training experience for him. Emma communicated with me providing progress updates and pictures. I also received great pictures and communication after his playgroup activities. 10/10 highly recommend!

We enrolled Ozzy, our 11-month-old Golden Retriever, when we were struggling with puppy biting, jumping, humping, and impulse control. The improvement has been remarkable. His biting has stopped, humping has been dramatically reduced, his leash walking has improved significantly, and he is much more responsive and manageable both at home and in public. Alex, our trainer, was knowledgeable, patient, and supportive throughout the entire process. He took the time to answer all of our questions, explain the methods he was using, and make sure we felt confident continuing the work at home. We also appreciated the daily updates during Ozzy's stay, which allowed us to follow his progress and see what he was working on each day. The follow-up support has been outstanding - whether in person, over the phone, or through messages, Alex has always been available to provide guidance and help us work through any challenges. What we appreciate most is that this wasn't just about teaching Ozzy commands. Alex helped us learn how to communicate with Ozzy more effectively and gave us the tools and confidence to continue reinforcing the work ourselves. We are extremely happy with Ozzy's progress and would highly recommend Alex and Canine Academy to any dog owner looking for effective, structured training.
