Camp K9 Training

We rescued our lab/shepherd mix as a pup. As she has grown, she’s started showing signs of reactivity and I was concerned that even though we were doing training programs elsewhere, we were missing something. Andres was a wealth of information from our initial phone call. He is always available to answer our 1,000 questions via text, and the lessons have left me feeling encouraged and reinvigorated in the training process. We did the 2 week board and training program and received regular updates during that time. We have also had additional training sessions individually. (She was 1.5 when she did the boarding program.) There are two things I really want to highlight that I appreciate about Andres. The first is his ability to explain the “why” behind what we are doing. He is very patient in giving scientific reasoning but in simple terms/tidbits. As he has said, he trains dogs, but even more so, he trains humans! The second is that he knows life happens and I don’t feel judged if we drop the ball on training because of sickness, family health pulling us for travel, or just not prioritizing that because of being needed for other tasks for the family. Because that foundation is solid, I have noticed when we drop the ball, our pup picks back up very quickly when we buckle down. We are also in the thick of puppy training our newest family member, a 4 month old lab rescue who’s looking a lot like a hound mix. Were we crazy to get another puppy with multiple kids at home, one being an infant? Maybe. But training our 2 year old pup with Andres gave us confidence that we could handle it and it doesn’t seem as painful having him alongside for the fun! We are very pleased with the services and progress our pups have made. The best feeling is when family or friends visit and comment the difference. Thank you Andres!

Andres is the best dog trainer (and human trainer) hands down! Our dog spent two weeks at board and train with Andres and it changed our lives! Our puppy before was extremely reactive barking at all dogs on walks, pulling the leash, barking constantly in the house and pacing. Andres camp not only showed him how to properly walk on a leash, but he provided us owners great tools to use to keep his energy at a calm place (ie treadmills, climbs, and structured walks). Andres provides lessons to owners before they go home so they can implement the same strategies learned at board and train. His responsiveness and assistance is always immediate by phone, text etc and he answers any questions you may have. I would recommend Andres to any family that is looking to get balance and structure back into their lives so that you can enjoy your dog again! Worth every penny!

I can’t say enough incredible things about working with Andres. He is truly a game-changing dog trainer. From day one, he was completely flexible with my schedule and made the entire training process seamless, even though we live across the country. Our FaceTime sessions were just as focused, effective, and personalized as any in-person training. Between sessions, Andres reviewed videos of my dogs and sent back detailed tips and corrections, which kept our training continuously productive. I learned quickly that the real work starts with me, and he taught me so much about my role in creating well-trained, confident, and happy dogs. I came to Andres with a high-energy puppy and a 6-year-old dog who needed their training tightened up. My goal was to get both dogs reliably walking at my side, off leash, for hikes, walks, and quick store runs. I wanted dogs who wouldn’t break focus with distractions, who would recall immediately, and who could still enjoy freedom to run, play, and just be dogs. With Andres’s guidance, that vision actually became attainable. Within just a handful of sessions, I started going on walks without the constant leash pulling, reactivity, sniffing every blade of grass, or marking on every lawn we passed. I finally understood the importance of timing, consistency, and meaningful rewards, not treat bribery and definitely not dogs who only listen when food is involved. What surprised me most was how much fun the training became. These sessions turned into real bonding moments that strengthened trust between me and my dogs. Owning a dog isn’t passive, ongoing training isn’t optional. They rely on us to guide them, and Andres helped me step confidently into that role. I genuinely believe everyone can benefit from training with Andres, no matter the dog’s age, breed, or challenges. I will recommend him first to anyone who asks. I could not be more pleased with the service I recieved from Andres. I had a dog since she was a puppy & believed we were taking care of her properly. That whatever issues she had were due to a bad breeder or traits consistent with her breed. After speaking with Andres on the phone, I quickly learned those things were untrue and there was a correct way to train a dog. More importantly, as dog owners we had to do better. After boarded training and keeping up with all we learned, we now have the best behaved dog. She’s learned to focus on me, trust me, show me signals instead of reacting. I’ve learned to pay attention and advocate for my pet, always. People simply don’t always listen when instructed on how to approach a pet. Instead of getting rid of a problem, my dog has become my trusted sidekick. She is exercised properly, understands limits & still knows we can have fun. Andres has been wonderful in responding if I had an issue after training. I have kept up with communication with Andres over the years to let him know she continues to keep up the great lessons learned & honestly could not be more satisfied with the decision to have Mercy in boarded training. It certainly is not a magic answer, it’s a commitment to learn as an owner & to stay consistent. The reward is immeasurable.
