RJ and Crystal went above and beyond to help with my dog Noodles. He’s a severe case but they were committed to doing everything they could to help with his aggression and reactivity. Not only did he come home having learned all the things necessary to be a happier and more relaxed dog, I learned so much about dog training and continue to work on creating a new relationship with him. I can’t recommend RJ and Crystal enough. I doubt you’ll find the personalized attention anywhere else. Don’t hesitate to leave your dog in these trusting hands!

Before learning about RJ and his practice I was desperate. I have a 9 year old mastiff/staffordshire terrier rescue named Dozer that had major anxiety issues. Not only was he dog aggressive but he would also refuse to listen at times and would only go on walks with me. I was lucky enough to stumble upon a review of RJ’s dog training which took me to their website. After doing some research I decided to reach out and to my surprise they were in contact within 24 hours! After my phone meeting with Crystal we decided the best course of action for Dozer would be the 5 week bootcamp. Although I was nervous about being separated from him, I knew this was the best decision for us both. I was also nervous that his advanced age would affect how willing he would be to learn. Despite my fears, I definitely made the right choice. Dozer now not only listens, he is EAGAR to listen. He is super food drive and is constantly looking to please me and others! (this is a big deal since he would only trust me in the past). He even sometimes looks at me as if to say "Mom what do I need to do for you next?!". Our walks are so much less stressful. We have even had two incidents where tiny dogs were off their leash and ran up to us, and though Dozer clearly was uncomfortable, he listened to my command to change direction and walk away. I didn't even hear him growl, where in the past even a dog across the street would freak him out. Lastly, RJ introduced me to the benefits of a raw diet. Dozer has developed allergies and gets pretty nasty hot spots and ear infections. After gradually switching him to raw, I am confident to say he has not one hot spot and his ears are the cleanest I have seen in years. My bond with Dozer is so special and unique now, we get compliments out in public which sometimes make me want to break down in tears! I HIGHLY recommend Zen RJ Dog Training. AMAZING! I took my 5 year old Australian Sheppard to RJ and Crystal with aggressiveness towards people, out of control barking in the house(territorial), still having accidents in the home, pretty severe car and in public anxiety, and awful dragging during walks. She was enrolled into his 5 week bootcamp which was needed seeing that she has a history of biting people. I feel like I have a whole new dog! She now is crated (and LOVES IT) so she is no longer having accidents in the home. She enjoys going on walks and listens to me. I can take her on car rides and out to public places. She never barks in our home anymore. She is so much more tamed, calm, and has a more structured lifestyle. Not only that, but the trust and bond between us has grown tremendously as well. The support and reliability RJ and Crystal offer is unmatched. I would absolutely recommend RJ to anyone who needs a smoother lifestyle with their dogs. Whether they are 8 months or 5 years of age. He has something to offer for all ages & types! I am so grateful I found RJ and can not thank him and Crystal enough for the behavioral progress in Luna!

Our family is so grateful to RJ (and Crystal) for the entire experience they provided (and continue to provide) with our awesome (Alfa dog) KODA. Boot camp with RJ was exactly what she (and we) needed to help give her the manners she needed and us the information and tools WE needed to understand how to work with her. Certainly do your homework as we did when looking for a great trainer, but we can tell you without a doubt, no one in the DMV area will do a better job than Zen RJ Dog Training. Professional and caring in every way, we know we got the best. He will always hold a special place in our hearts, after helping to make our life with KODA a much better one.
