California Canine Dog Training

Sampson is our first puppy and only our second dog, so we have a lot to learn. Ashley has been a great teacher and she's been so warm and caring with Sammy. We bought a package of private training sessions and the weekly 30 minute sessions are just the right amount of school for us. Be realistic, the classes are for you, and the homework is for you to do with your dog at home. It's really great to be able to come in once a week and talk to Ashley about our experience training him each each week, and for her to give feedback based on her knowledge of Sammy so far. She is very patient and a great listener. And we really appreciate having the same trainer each week so that we can keep the momentum going. There is no way we could get the same results online or in a book. Thank you, Ashley!

If you are looking for a place to train your puppy, I absolutely do not recommend this facility. I had a private training class scheduled yesterday & California Canine had their front door propped open making it an absolute insecure facility for our vulnerable dogs. My 7 month old rescue puppy escaped thru the propped open front door out of sight. This open front door exposed my dog to a busy street of cars & foot traffic. As I tried to catch my puppy, I got dragged down in the process & injured my knee, elbow, hand & damaged my key fob for my car. 2 trainers cornered him in a nearby alley, & after I peeled myself off the pavement injured & in tears, I was able to call him over. I was very lucky he was not killed in traffic or lost never to be found. I hold this facility fully responsible for their negligence of not having a secure facility for puppies that are brought there to learn obedience so we as pet parents can keep them safe & healthy. After this horrible incident I asked numerous times why did they have the front door propped open, & the reason the trainer gave me was so that they could air out the space. Unbelievable. Truly unbelievable. Both my puppy & I were traumatized by this incident. I insisted they refund me the $200 I spent on classes & they only refunded me for $160 as they noted I had already had one course completed. They are very lucky I am not suing them for negligence in having an insecure training center, physical & emotional damages & injuries. REPLY UPDATE: You have one half wall with a gate for the training area, & once that gate is opened, the puppies can race out thru your front door you choose to prop open. The bottom line is that you left your front door open intentionally, providing an open escape route for untrained puppies. Pure negligence. Regarding my fall, I told you numerous times thru my tears I was injured, so clearly I was not okay. Your attempt to frame this thru circumstances misses the point - you must create a secure environment for untrained puppies.

Gidget our 10 week old mini doodle had her first Pre-K puppy class today with 6 other adorable puppies all under 16 weeks of age at California Canine. Ashley the trainer did a wonderful job of guiding all the humans and pups so that everyone had a positive experience. I liked that it was play based! Similar to what children need at a young age. I look forward to observing/helping Gidget grow into a well-socialized dog.
