Bowser's Dog Services

I believe it was Nate that came over my house today to do a dog evaluation. I’m not confident in his advice as he told me to give up my dog. I was told today that since I work that is best for my dog to rehome him. My dog has separation anxiety and barks a lot and that is why I sought the service. I recently downsized to save money, and because my daughter left, and I even asked this man if I moved to a house with a yard, if it would be better for my dog, and he said no. He said my dog would Just be in jail with a yard. I’ve had my dog who is going to be five since he was a puppy, and I treat my dog very well. I was very surprised with the feedback that I got today, and I don’t think I want to be separated from my dog as he is all I have in this world now. I was very surprised to receive such bad advice today. Nate also told me that my dog would not care if he was Or put in a shelter. I thoroughly disagree. I’ve been thinking about this since he left hours ago and I feel like I cannot believe what I had heard.

**** UPDATE **** We had our first follow-up appointment with Jayara today, and she continues to amaze us with her knowledge and guidance. She showed us how to train our dog to (eventually) walk the treadmill off leash, and reinforced the importance of meeting your dog’s physical needs. As always, she was so clear in explaining the psychology and logic behind the training, that she truly has “taught ‘Dog’ to us Humans.” I cannot recommend Bowsers more, and we are forever grateful for Jayara and the team. This training was the greatest investment we have ever made. From the very first visit, they broke it down in terms we could understand. They explained the “why” before the “how.” We did the entire bootcamp program, and it changed our lives. No more worrying about leaving shoes out or a stray sock; this dog is perfect now. We have a two year old newfound who though is very sweet and fairly well trained, was reactive around other dogs, and jumped on people. Our main concern was she had resource guarding that had resulted in more than one bite incident. We spent months with different trainers and talking to behaviorists who just weren’t fitting well with our needs, or methods that didn’t faze our dog. It was almost to the point where we had reached out to rehome her. Luckily we were recommended by a vet tech whose friend used Bowser. We’ve had multiple training sessions and have had our dog back from boarded training for almost a week. While she has worked with most of the crew, she was typically handled by Jayara who did an amazing job. We’ve been giving advice and tools that are greatly improving her guarding! She has been so calm when seeing other dogs, and her obedience has definitely improved! While they will train and work with the dog, expect to have much work and consistency on your end because at the end of the day they are teaching YOU how to train your dog.
