BOMBSHELL K9 Training & Boarding

Our family includes two, 2 ½ your old Doberman Pinscher cousins (female/male) who are four weeks apart. Our female has displayed behavioral concerns from early on. It started with her eating the walls and chewing up door jams. At our vet’s recommendation we tried a calming diffuser for dogs, as well as giving her calming chews. None of these appear to work. Outside of the home she exhibited behaviors of extreme anxiety and perhaps lack of confidence in herself. We live in a community that is great for walking and we take the two Dobie's on regular walks and runs. Unfortunately, she would lounge and aggressively bark at kids and other dogs. Examples: she does not like children, children with bicycle helmets, children on bicycles, people on razors. When they were about a year old, we a handful of one-hour visits to doggie daycare. Her last visit we were told by the owner she couldn’t come back. She was too anxious and too upset to be there. At this point, I enrolled her into dog training but unfortunately it did not address the route issue, and her negative behaviors did not change. The training was not what I was looking for and was more of passive training with treats only. No obedience. In January of this year, squabbles between the two turned into full on dog fights with the aggressor being our female. With each dog fight the situation became more intense and more dangerous for our male and me trying to break them apart. At most times one dog had to be kept in a crate and when out of the crates, both dogs were now in basket muzzles and collars and small leads. I share all of this, to convey how precarious the situation had become. As an experience pet owner and dog trainer, our female had become even too much for me to manage. My husband contacted Britaini. She and I spoke and then met for an evaluation. Her training methods and style completely align with what I knew we needed and expected. We started out with in-home trainings which I saw immediate improvement with obedience and leash training. Due to the intensity of our female’s behaviors, we transitioned her training into a two-week board and training, were I and my male would go to Tacoma twice a week for training with our female and Britaini. Britaini is kind but firm with holding the dog accountable for making “good choices”. Her training contains, obedience, corrections, rewards, breaks, consistency, and homework. I noticed immediate improvement when my male and I saw our female at the training/boarding facility in Tacoma. Britaini regularly sent videos and pictures of our girl’s progress, as well as shared updates whenever we checked in. Our female came home last Friday and there is a noticeable difference between the dog who left two weeks ago and the one who came back home. She seems to be calmer and follows verbal directions. I have been able to walk both my dogs together in a heal throughout the neighborhoods without her reacting negatively to children and/or other dogs. Both the dogs are out together without the need for basket muzzles. With that said, this is an ongoing process, on my part, to reinforce the training she has received. It is not a one and done. I have continued the training with both dogs to avoid any backwards slippage. I would 100 percent, hands down recommend Britaini. Whether you are looking for regular obedience training or needing help with behavioral issues she is the best I have seen by far. I spent weeks searching for a trainer in my area that fit all of my criteria and offered the type of training we were looking for when I stumbled upon bombshell k9.I was looking for advanced obedience and personal protection training with my gsd mix and obedience and other small things with our mastiff mix who even attempted to bite her during our first session. This behavior was checked quickly and we started seeing results with our dogs immediately! Managing both of our dogs has become so much easier. Every session is catered to our training goals and what each dog needs individually. I am beyond impressed with the training Britaini has put into our dogs (And us!) She is great at holding us accountable and keeping it real with us so that we can get the best results out of our training while still having fun with our dogs.
