Bold City K9

After speaking with Courtney, I chose the 6 week board and train course. I have a German Shepherd from a working line and was a little unprepared for just how much energy he’d have. Haha. He was a little younger than they would normally start with but he was being pretty mouthy so they agreed to take him in. The results were outstanding. They laid the foundation for us to be able to communicate and have some outlets for all of the energy. She worked on the things covered in the training of course but also tailored it to a few more specific areas that were a concern for us like making sure he’d be okay around our smaller pets and helping him gain some confidence when around new people. He is still young and we’ll need to continue building on these as he grows up, but I’m confident that with this foundation and the expert follow up training/consulting that’s included we’ll have no problems Thank you so much Courtney/Bold City K9!

My boyfriend and I an 89 pound GSD and things started to get out of hand. He used to dig massive holes in the backyard, run the fence and bark if my neighbors dog was outside. Also, trying to get him inside from being outside, was a nightmare… luring him with food, anything and nothing seemed to work. I was so torn on board and train… but something told me, he’d be in good hands. Courtney is beyond talented. And you can truly see that she loves every dog she works with and puts her all into every single one. She also works with you before you take them home, and it’s SHOCKING to see the results. My GSD is so confident and we have so much fun with him now. He loves to play ball, he comes when he’s called, and we can walk him without getting dragged down the street!! I can also chill outside with him, in the same place we play ball. We just can’t remember what it was like before her training.

You will not regret your decision to have your dog train with Courtney! Courtney truly listens to the needs of each client and then diligently trains your dog to achieve those goals. For us it was the need for enhanced focus, increased self-control, immediate recall and overall response to us as owners. More importantly, Courtney teaches you as the owner how to interact/maintain the new skills and lifestyles that have been learned (this is probably the most difficult aspect, the follow-through). She is incredibly responsive to questions, continued lessons and feedback on training hang-ups and continues to help us reach new goals. I cannot thank Courtney enough for providing me with the confidence and knowledge to build a stronger, more connected relationship with my Australian shepherd, Cali, which in turn has lead to more freedom for Cali and for our entire family. We had previously had our dog trained with Bold City K9 (years ago) but, through no fault of the initial training (i.e. growing our family and not spending time exercising and training Cali), Cali formed some stubborn habits and we had inadvertently re-enforced some anxious behaviors that we could not surpass on our own. Cali spent 2 weeks refreshing and returned to us with a renewed attentiveness, which was always there but we had neglected to develop in her. With changes in our own routines, more play, and consistent corrections, we have gained so much calmer in our home and we as the owners are now doing our part. Thank you Courtney for everything you do and continue to do for us dog lovers. :)

Courtney is an amazing trainer!! My dog Bella, is a St. Bernard Poodle mix who is high energy and stubborn. She had extreme seperation anxiety, would break out of the kennel and destroy everything in sight. I went to Courtney after someone highly recommended her and I was not disappointed! She did the 3 week VIP program. She kept me updated with videos and photos with updates of my baby. The best thing was taking time to train me before taking Bella home. As a result of the training, not only is my life easier but, Bella even seems happier!!! She's not as anxious, she has "positive" play time, she goes in and out of the car, goes in the kennel with no problem, and comes when she's called despite any distractions. Investing in the training was the best thing I could have done for Bella and myself. And to add to the benefit of taking her to Bold City, I am able to continue to reach out to Courtney knowing she cares about how Bella is doing in training even after leaving.
