Blue Line K-9

I called Blue Line for advice on a situation where our dogs had been fighting badly. Mike had returned my call promptly. I told him our situation in detail and he gave me a number of thoughtful options that would best fit our family situation. He was very generous with his time and not at all bent on "making the sale". In fact he had suggested there are behavioral changes we can do on our own of we are disciplined and consistent. When we were done speaking I felt hopeful and encouraged. Professional , compassionate and knowledgeable.

Our German Shepherd was extremely anxious and never listened unless she felt like it. She barked like crazy at any stranger and though she was never aggressive it was certainly scary to anyone who didn’t know better. She was an embarrassment and we weren’t ever able to take her for a walk because she’d act like a crazy dog. We sent her to the 10 day program and she came back to us a completely different dog. Her trainers said she was super nervous at first but picked everything up quickly. Now we take her on walks and she barely gives other dogs or people a second glance. Other dogs bark at her like the crazy dog she used to be and she just keeps on walking completely unfazed. She’s no longer dragging us around when she’s on her leash- whenever she starts to pull she listens to the commands and circles back towards us. She listens when we change directions and follows us. She’s definitely less anxious now that she understands we are in control and can focus on the commands we give her. There’s still some work we have to do but Blue Line gave us all the tools we need to make her the best girl she can be! Melissa was so helpful and answered all of our questions and went above and beyond to make sure Lily succeeded. We are so grateful that now we can give our girl the best life possible! This program was a lifesaver!

I am so grateful to have found BLK9. I had been struggling with my Lab’s behavior despite all of the research, effort, and time I had put into trying to train her on my own. When she turned 2 and I could no longer excuse her actions for puppy behavior, a friend of mine put me in contact with Mike Soler, the owner of BLK9. He came to my house to evaluate my dog and he almost instantly recognized that her anxious pacing, desperation for attention, relentless drinking/eating anything she could find, etc. was likely the result of an underlying health issue, and the actions that I had mistaken for poor behavior were simply mechanisms for survival. Sure enough, the following morning, my poor girl coincidentally had a seizure. Mike recommended that we hold off on training until her health issues were resolved because he knew that it would be wasted time and money otherwise. This is something that really sets BLK9 apart. They’re truly not in it just for the money (although I will note that you get what you pay for!). Mike could’ve easily signed me up for a training program that day, but instead he showed genuine concern for my dog and even gave me the resources that ultimately ended up saving her life. When she was finally stable, we began our training program. Something I appreciate so greatly is that Mike is dedicated to providing the results that are specific to my dog and my wants/needs for her. At our first session he asked me what my goals were and since then, he has uniquely designed each session in a way that enables us to reach those goals. Mike will go above and beyond to simulate any scenario that you and your dog may need help with - no matter how ridiculous it may be! For example, my dog and another dog had an issue with becoming territorial and aggressive around a certain body of water, so, without hesitation, Mike met us there and we worked to resolve the issue. I also appreciate that I never have to remind Mike about my dog’s quirks despite the fact that he works with so many other dogs and their owners. He knows that she needs frequent breaks without me ever having to remind him of her condition, he knows the activities she enjoys so he incorporates them into our sessions, he knows what my ongoing concerns are and addresses them at each session, etc. I also love that Mike is always eager to teach us more. After we achieve one goal, we build upon it and move on to achieve the next one. My dog and I leave each lesson knowing what we are working towards and what steps we need to take to get there. Mike will also encourage me to ask him questions as they come up between sessions because he is just as invested in your dog’s progress as you are. The best part is - my dog and I actually enjoy training now. Mike doesn’t just take charge and do the work himself, he equips the owner with the tools they need to train their own dog, which simultaneously fosters an unbreakable bond between you and your dog. My dog and I both used to dread going for walks, but now it’s one of our favorite things to do. A year ago, I had a stranger yell “are you walking that dog or is she walking you?” and now, almost every time we go to the park, at least one person will compliment her behavior. I thought my dog was a lost cause but Mike gladly took on the challenge and has provided us incredible results that I really thought were impossible. I highly recommend BLK9. You won’t find another team as dedicated and passionate about teaching you and your dog how to achieve your goals, all while making it fun for the both of you. I am so proud of my dog’s results and I owe it all to BLK9!
