Bigskyk9 was the key to my solution. Understanding your dog is most valuable. I struggled with iinii from the beginning. He exhibited these issues of aggression from the beginning towards people and dogs. I have gone thru 2 trainers before I found Sam. I didn't feel any of them understood what the magnitude of my concern was. My turning point came when iinii charged at a neighbor. I was at my wits end and embarrassed. I thought after ALL THIS TRAINING something is NOT working. That is when I found Bigskyk9. I was skeptical at first - only because I didn't believe in giving over your dog to another to "fix your issues." I felt it was my responsibility because they would be back with me, and if I didn't know how to handle it, how's that going to help? After a few sessions, I realized Sam was trustworthy, and I felt I wouldn't be able to accomplish what he could. I took a chance and did the board and train. It was worth every penny! Its been a year post board and train and I have been able to take iinii places and do things that I'd NEVER be able to before. Sam had helped me and iinii understand each other. We are now speaking the same language and its been the best thing. Its a work in progress though. Iinii and I have taken steps back but with overall forward progression! After a ton of researching training facilities and trainers I contacted Big Sky K9 Academy and was thrilled to get my two Corgis, Gizmo and Gadget accepted into their program. Sam was so professional every time we spoke on the phone prior to my drop off date. He totally put my mind at ease with all my concerns about my boys. Traveling over 220 miles from home to get there was well worth it. Every night Sam would send me a video of him and the boys working together, this put me at ease knowing they were in good hands. These videos also helped me to understand ahead of time what my role in their training once they were home. He showed compassion and patience with both dogs, even though their personalities were totally opposite. He trained them both separately and together so they would walk together with me in a civil manner. On pick up day I Sam spent two hours training me on how to handle them. I was totally astonished how far they had come when we were reunited. It took me a few minutes to grasp everything but I’ve been home with them for a few days and it’s been a delight to be out in public with them. Gadget no longer gets aggressive towards other dogs and they walk so well together I can’t believe they are the same dogs!! Gadget still has some impulse things we are working on but thanks to Sam I have the tools to keep him learning. Sam is truly an animal lover and really knows his stuff! Thanks to him and his team my boys and myself have the skills to enjoy being out in public and are not menaces to society! Thanks so much Sam!!

I took my 7 month old border collie puppy to BSK9 because he has a mind of his own! He took puppy classes in our home city of Billings, but he paid absolutely no attention to the instructor. He's very easily distracted and unfocused, so when I searched for board & train instruction, i checked out BSK9, which has excellent reviews. I currently have a 3 year old border collie who's well trained, and have had other BC's in the past and know it takes a special person to train them! They can be REALLY stubborn! I had a long conversation with them over the phone before I made my decision to bring him there (156 miles from home), discussing our home situation, my frustrations, my dogs temperament and personality, and what i want to focus on. After speaking with them, and interviewing another board & train center here in Billings, I felt extremely comfortable with BSK9. I definitely made the correct decision! He was in their care for three weeks and came home a well mannered puppy!!! Along the way, I was sent videos and photos of his progress, and received feedback. That was really helpful and nice to see his progress, but also just to see his cute little face. When I took him there, we talked about what i could expect, then turned over my wild puppy to Logan. When I returned to take him home we spent time practicing his commands and how to properly correct any mistakes. I HIGHLY recommend BSK9. It's well worth the money if you love your dog(s). I know now I can confidently take my Adonis out on a walk or to a park and keep him under control! If i could give them 10 stars, I would.

Sam and Sara are amazing! Our dog was a 6m old rescue with a rough first few months of her life- nearly no socialization or training, but a huge heart. We found Big Sky K9 through neighborhood recommendations, and was the best decision we could have made for our dog and our family. Sam and Sara were incredibly patient answering questions, explaining the training process and what to expect, and once our pup was with them for the board and train, so incredibly communicative with daily video and explanations of the training. And most importantly- once training was over, it was amazing to see and experience our "new" dog. Her training has helped her be so much calmer and confident in all situations, and it's also been really fun working with her since we got her back.
