FirstBarkSo far so good. This is my third lab puppy and trying to make sure we tackle obedience issues early on. Montana is patient with my pup and has provided great tips. We do not cover too many commands at each lesson so we can practice and master. We have had 3 private lessons and not sure I am the alpha dog but certainly in a better place than prior dogs :)

Big Sky Dog Training, is a reward-based, positive reinforcement obedience dog training service. I provide private lessons in your home, and home board and train in my home in Wonder Lake. I help you correct inappropriate behaviors and redirect the dog to an appropriate behavior/position that the dog can be rewarded for. Our mission is to create an environment where you and your dog are learning together in a positive and fun environment. I am Insured and bonded. Only one dog is boarded and trained at a time.

After adopting a puppy from Lambs Farm we given information about dog training with Montana who works with a lot of the Wright-Way Rescue dogs (Wright-Way is associated with Lambs Farm dogs for adoption). Montana was fantastic in many ways: 1). She replied to my emails and spoke to me on the phone to answer all my questions and offer suggestions before class starts. Very accessible. 2). She is very attentive to each dog/puppy/person in class. 3). She brings so many items with her to help all the participants in class, if you think you may need a harness versus a collar she may have one for you to try. 4). She is full of suggestions if one thing is not working. 5). Her style is great. I highly recommend Montana and Big Sky Dog Training. She cares. If you don't work with your dog or puppy outside of class, then you will have a longer road.

I think our experience with Montana has been so positive because she's an excellent communicator, and listens to what we need for our pups. When we ask that some problem be addressed, Montana focuses on that until the problem is resolved. I would recommend Big Sky Dog Training to anyone who wants a great companion dog!

I took Montana's puppy training class at the Winnetka Community House. She was super helpful with coaching us on the basics. It was amazing to see the difference with the dogs from 1st class to last. To have all these active pups in a confined space and paying attention was quite the feat! I love that I can call her anytime with any question even if I'm not in a class or a regular client. Montana is the best!!
