Unfortunately, society beats into our heads the only way to train a dog is to feed them treats, and the use of any tool invented by man is a weapon of abuse. But with proper knowledge and training, these tools grant more freedom (at least for us it did). We made the leap and bought a pinch collar per her recommendation, and with her help we can now walk our dog with one finger. The collar has never made my dog yelp, and now I am able to spend 3-times the amount of time outside including more enjoyable walks. The collar's not used to cause pain, or fear, or abuse, and is only on my dog for walks and training. It's been a blessing. I'm confident my dog was in more pain from pulling so hard on his normal collar or at least; in more mental pain, when a 30-minute walk resulted in 8 feet off the deck. But it's not just the tool(s) I'm praising. Jessica will help you understand your dog's breed and their needs, and will set you up to succeed in training your dog with positive reinforcement! Because in the end, she still tells you most of the work falls on the owners, and tell you can use both training tools, and do positive reinforcement. God bless! With years of experience with dog behavior, Jessica is probably the most knowledgeable person I’ve met regarding dog training and pet care, to see her make this into her business is amazing and a great resource for those needing training for their dog, a place where your dog can get all their energy out, or where your dog can have fun while you’re on vacation. Jessica has a keen eye for a dog’s specific needs and what hasn’t worked for them and what will and pairs up playtime with dogs that compliment each other perfectly! Jessica of Big Hair Pet Care is amazing. Jessica's vast knowledge in dog behaviors is outstanding. Her knowledge and passion for animals is why I take my 5 month old bully breed to Big Hair. I have always been one of those over protective dog owners but feel very comfortable with Jessica. The yard is big and secure and watching my puppy run with a pack of 4 other dogs was awesome. Big Hair Pet Care is the best place to board your dog. The owner Jessica is always extremely reliable with the care of our dog Bella. Bella loves to stay there when my wife and I go on vacation. Definitely a piece of mind knowing that our dog is in such a great hands. Even though that we live an hour plus away from Big Hair Pet Care it is worth to do the long drive and know that our dog is receiving such a good and quality care.
