We were very happy with our training program for Jacques. We did a mixed board/train program for 4 weeks and were really happy with his progress. He was a stray Jack Russell mix we adopted that was about 11 months when we started the program. We also have 3 other small dogs and 2 elementary school children, so it was very important to that he was successfully incorporated into our family. He is such a well behaved dog now and we are excited he is part of our family.

We adopted a Cavapoo in September. She developed some anxiety in her early weeks and I began my search for a trainer to help her through her anxiety and fear.. The first behavior program I called sent out a trainer that was not a good fit for us. I was told she needed to be medicated and then reevaluated by the trainer. I contacted my vet who suggested I might try Beyond The Dog. I was impressed by their website and reached out by filling out the online form. In a very timely manner, the owner reached out to me. I explained in detail all that had happened since we brought her home from out of state. He was so attentive and asked me lots of questions before suggesting the type of program that he felt would work with Penney. Soon I received an email with the name of a trainer and a time for an in home evaluation. The day came to meet our trainer, Ben King. From the moment I opened the door, he began using training techniques to help Penny with her fear, anxiety and reactive behavior to strangers. That first session we sat and talked through all of my concerns. Ben is an amazing listener! After hearing my concerns, he developed a plan that would work on the main issues that I had for Penny. She was very reactive and not at all open to meeting new people. I was concerned that she interact in a friendly, calm and safe way around my two young granddaughters, learn to meet people with out reacting, learn to seek attention in positive ways, learn to respond to basic commands and be able to walk on a leash. Ben was always punctual, communicative, compassionate ( with me and Penny), knowledgeable about training techniques. He was very patient when working with me to teach me what he had taught Penny through the week. Sometimes I felt I needed more practice than Penny, but never did Ben make me feel like I was unable to learn the techniques to help Penny be successful. Ben always patiently demonstrated techniques until I was able to master the technique. Every week he would ask me if I felt there were any concerns or problems. If a problem arose, he was quick to come up with a workable solution. Ben was always accessible through text or e-mail. This successful program, Beyond The Dog, is outstanding and Ben King is an experienced and professional trainer as well as an amazing person.He exceeded my expectations in every way. He taught me that this way of training is not just for the period of time that the trainer works with the dog and owner, it’s a lifelong method of teaching us to interact in positive ways that create a happy, healthy and confident dog and life long companion. My dog had really bad anxieties toward strangers and other dogs ! I hired Beyond the dog because it was starting to be a liability to have visitors at the house due to the fact Mable( dog) was crowling , barking and trying to bite them . Ben the trainer who was send to train Mable was able to change Mable’s outlook towards people coming to the house and trained us( the owner ) as well. We were taught certain techniques to deal with these situations! Hands down best trainer and dog training company ! Thank you

Beyond the Dog was amazing at training my 10 month old reactive dog. Canela was highly reactive towards other dogs, squirrels, and bikes. She would pull on the leash consistently and it made walks around the neighborhood impossible. We tried so many training techniques (and much to our mistakes, techniques that are not certified to create lasting changes). During our consultation with our trainer Abby we were able to pinpoint our goals for Canela and set realistic standards for her to succeed. Throughout the training we were able to gain the right tools to train our dog for lifelong changes. Thank you to Abby for being patient and always working with us to give our girl the best chance at success. Abby always communicated with us Canela’s progress and would answer any questions I had outside of training days. Her support and guidance is greatly appreciated.
