Peter from Better Manners dog training is a fantastic trainer! The secret is, he doesn’t train dogs, he trains people to understand their dog’s psychology so that you can communicate effectively with your pet. When we got Lyra, she was very shy and reserved. Just scared of everything - including us. She was afraid to go for walks. Most of the time she wouldn’t even get out of her bed to go outside- we would have to carry her out. She wouldn’t do her business if we were out there with her, so we’d set her outside, then go inside and watch her through the sliding glass doors. To make matters worse, she had started to bark at the neighbors dogs through the fence. On his first day here, Peter walked us through the process of earning her trust and respect. He assured us that the bond would develop over time. He took her outside, and using his method, trained her in less than 10 minutes to not bark at the fence. It was a miracle. Using the tools Peter gave us, we’ve been able to help Lyra blossom into happy, outgoing, well-behaved dog. She loves training so much, I’m constantly learning new tricks to teach her, we’ve even started tip-toeing into some agility training. And of course she LOVES her walks.
